I would imagine the SSHD because it would be pulling the data its using of the flash portion of the SSHD. I don't know the whole techie description for it, but I know the gist of it. Supposedly the data you would be using at that time would be stored in the Flash portion for quick response...

I'm not the best techie person though... just going of theory here. I don't have any personal experience since I dont have one installed to verify...

Holy god, this really is like a new machine. Before, I would treat a load into a new zone like a bathroom break. Now, it's like I blink once or twice and it's done. I want to hug my PS3 so hard now.

TBH i recomend saving for the ps4 and get that version.

You'll have more Ram
Much better Cpu and Gpu

Better zoning, better chars, better textures

You can then transfer your SSD in the PS3 into the PS4... making it even better. Plus FFXIV isn't coming for PS4 till next feb.

I just want to give a post-Odin follow up for this thread.

We've all suffered with Odin. Usually, we can never see him. Everything slows to a crawl. Nothing loads when it should. Makes for an incredibly frustrating time, right?

Well, last night on Siren, Odin got slaughtered and I was there for 2/3 of the fight. And from the moment I ran into the zone to the moment he was dead, playing it on the SSD was like night and day. He never once disappeared, and everything within my load radius would load just about instantly, no delay on any of my movements or actions. In fact, the only part of it that annoyed me was my wireless keyboard not letting me type more than 2 letters a second.
