I guess I haven't gotten there enough to notice. I got maimed once because I ran too slow b/c his landslide effect distorted my ability to see the middle row's explosion. But, if it's consistent like this, then...
It's all pattern based brother, every single fight in this game is.
Good thing SE won't listen to op or this game unplayable for the majority of the players base.
Tumults are not a gear check.. it's a check to see if your healers are paying attention to rotation. If it was a gear check, they'd make tumults interrupt heals.
I too find it easier to heal than dps, and my dps is a bard lol. It's easy on both, but ability to sprint lets me snooze on the fight and still dodge easily. Only thing to pay attention to is keeping tank up before big hit, and start ae heal right before tumults.
On dps I tend to not even pay attention to rotation, and sometimes get caught by a plume , this wasn't the case when I was progressing on it and paying very close attention. I guess you can say I got cocky.
People standing in the wrong spots for p5 plumes is not "RNG". YOU have control over where you're standing so as to not box other players in. Your (hopefully not derpy) teammates have a responsibility to not box you in as well. There is no RNG in the Titan fight, just a minor dps check (heart phase); Titan's attacks can't even crit.5 stacks of Weight forming a fat corridor on one character is messy. The ground strip attack going off right before bombs and its smoke effect making it impossible to see when the bombs go off in p5 is messy. The limited camera zoom making it where I--a healer--have limited view of everything that's going on (even though it's my job to see the whole thing at all times)--is messy. Casting the pound and being triggered for the massive AOE during is messy. This fight, to some degree, is RNG.
if a fight where it's basicly impossible to get up after a raise it's forgiving, i don't know what is a punitive fight.
Seriously, while i would love some more random factor sided to scripts, i don't wanna be the winner in a fight where i won for luck and not for skill
How is that any worse than winning the fight on the floor while 5 other people beat it for you? I think everyone who clears the fight and gets their relic should have to pull their weight, and it's a failure of the encounter mechanics that they don't.
Why is that an issue? If a group can beat it, they can beat it. Why are you punishing those five people for helping three other people out? Do soldiers that die in a war not count towards their nation's victory?
I agree 100% with the OP. Relics are far too easy to get and they've become standard now. No real accomplish in getting one, and it's expected for you to have one for every class. I want the relic quest chain to be much more challenging, but I guess it's ok how it is now. I just wish all of AF1+1 was long quest chains as well, they're super fun, getting a relic was super fun, but logging in to do AK/WP for 3 hours per week is zero challenge, not exciting, and very boring.
Been carried it's an entirely different question, and have nothing to do with random behavior of a boss or not. A skilled party will most likely win the encounter with a leecher, as always been in every mmorpg of the earth. It don't remove run seller, leechers, carriers etc
