Titan is too forgiving to be worth a relic

I think there's a serious problem with how easy it is to finish a Titan kill with 3+ people dead after heart. Just being able to survive past heart and then promptly dying should not effectively count as a win for your relic. I don't think the challenge was supposed to be "find 5 people who can live and then watch them win for you." I don't mind helping people, at all, but I'm not a fan of people obtaining a relic by lying in the dirt for phase 5.

The 1.0 quest wasn't like this. You couldn't do your dungeon speedruns with 3 people dead for half the run. You had to beat Garuda with 0 deaths. You might limp to victory on Ifrit Extreme with 3 people dead at the very end but anyone who did it knows that the bigger obstacle was the final nail phase, which was much more difficult than Titan's Heart and was most certainly not 5mannable.

I couldn't care less about the loot. But, when I was your age, I walked 10 miles in the snow two ways barefoot and naked, and I liked it. Some of the comments make it sound like that player is the .01% who has mastered the game and that they should be the only ones allowed to play it. I think those people should be playing chess on hardmode and solving Rubic's cubes instead of playing and griping about "how easy" an MMO is.

For a lot of people Titan is still difficult. I mean even Garuda is hard for some people. If you DF Garuda you will find only 1/5 or 1/6 succeed. I imagine our relics will be upgradable or we will get new version that will require more time and effort. I think this was just kind of a starting point. I think the term "relic" has a connotation from XI, but I don't think we should equate our current relics to the end all be all of weapons. Sure they are the best at this point, but somehow I do not think that will last.

For some, not most, yes. But in 1.0 you couldn't run a pick-up group for Ifrit Extreme and get your relic. A ton of people were stuck on Ifrit extreme in 1.0. It actually took time to get your relic (not XI time, but more than few hours!). I mean hell, if your FC members are willing to help you, you could get more than one relic in one day (as is the case for one of my FC members). In 1.0, it took multiple days to get one.

I do miss those Ifrit runs, though.
They were pretty fun. I still have a screenshot of Raikki telling me I dodged e'rrything. <3

I wouldn't say Titan is the problem, hes a fairly decent check. Ifrit is entirely too easy, garuda can be done in DF pugs after a few tries. Precursor weapons are stupid cheap now (Avr 5k on balmung). Chimeras mechanics can be avoided by simply tanking him on top of the hill and the kill 24 enemies is hardly worth being a step.

I'm glad they removed the RNG aspects (But they could bring back the exploding precurser with how cheap they are now) but i feel they should of replaced the spiritbond and hamlet sections with a really hard personal quest. The level 50 class quests are mostly open ended they could of added on another section for the relic.

They are adding extreme modes. Considering titan drops Ilvl80 weapons I wonder what the extreme primals will drop?

Good thing SE won't listen to op or this game unplayable for the majority of the players base.

Tumults are not a gear check.. it's a check to see if your healers are paying attention to rotation. If it was a gear check, they'd make tumults interrupt heals.

I too find it easier to heal than dps, and my dps is a bard lol. It's easy on both, but ability to sprint lets me snooze on the fight and still dodge easily. Only thing to pay attention to is keeping tank up before big hit, and start ae heal right before tumults.

On dps I tend to not even pay attention to rotation, and sometimes get caught by a plume , this wasn't the case when I was progressing on it and paying very close attention. I guess you can say I got cocky.

People standing in the wrong spots for p5 plumes is not "RNG". YOU have control over where you're standing so as to not box other players in. Your (hopefully not derpy) teammates have a responsibility to not box you in as well. There is no RNG in the Titan fight, just a minor dps check (heart phase); Titan's attacks can't even crit.

if a fight where it's basicly impossible to get up after a raise it's forgiving, i don't know what is a punitive fight.
Seriously, while i would love some more random factor sided to scripts, i don't wanna be the winner in a fight where i won for luck and not for skill
