I've done my fair share of learning from trial and error, but the truth is... We no longer live in those days.

The demographics changed over the years and things have become more user friendly for players because a lot of the players (i.e. the working man) don't have the time to go exploring every nook and cranny to find out how the hell he is supposed to go from Point A to Point B. As for me, my memory is just bad. I was never good with dates in History class when growing up, birthdays, and stuff like that. I'm sorry, but if you're going to start complaining about something like this, then I'll just have to give you the counter-argument of:

Well, why are you using a computer to communicate? Why not write letters? Forget e-mail and online communication, forget calculators as well. Just use your own intelligence to solve every problem rather than dependable tools.

However... Saying all of that wouldn't be very fair to you. We live in an era where we can access pretty much anything with the click of a button and I see absolutely no downside to them adding a simple feature such as this. It's not as if it would make you any less independent. If you can memorize every single detail in the game, that's great... Just please don't expect everyone else to and more importantly... Don't hold it against them if they can't.
