ppl are so scared about any "challenging-effort" content in games.....on forums we only hear: "i dont want this, and for sure dont want that.... and if they implement those things it will sucks"....... wtfng lazy online community these days....
why dont ask about a game where you have a <get everything instantly> button......
I'd be all for an FFT style job unlocking system.
Not sure anyone suggested....
But maybe get one of the current related classes to a certain level say 30~
The get an option to an Advancement Quest / trial, id prefer something medium hard to fight even if if's required multiple fights etc.
Not just some pick up & deliver quest, well i guess 1-2 parts of the quest would be ok but must have atleast 1 cool fight in it.
And obviously some detailed information / plot to bind the lore together.
Using Black Mage as Refrence now, maybe do a fight where you have to use your Mage knowlegde to kill of mobs based upon their elemental defence etc. (Kinda like the tactic for Fighting the current ingame Jelly, where it switches elemental status)
Make it interesting & let the player know the job abit better.
Id also suggest adding some kind of city library even if its a small one, where players can go and
read more about their classes / jobs / elements / attributes etc.
Kinda like ingame tutorial books with pictures and useful information. (Sage guild / library maybe?)
Quest?...maybe travel to some desolated castle, house in the Coerthas mountains,
do som minor quests for some old Wizard, assist him in fitghing some mobs.
This could also be tied into a Quest given by the "Class" quest giver to gather materials
etc to craft / create an Artifact Weapon / tool at a certain level for the specific class.
Some materials could be found only in the new dungeons perhaps. (rare drops etc)
Kinda like FFXI's Dynamis drops.
- Sorry for any typos.

I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...
there is a difference between a challange and a redundent time sink. Seems most here want the latter. They already said how it will be. You get a class to a certain rank and do a quest. And that the job is a more specialized form of said class.
One thing I disliked was the Maat fight. When you not that great at playing solo, that fight almost made you want to quit the game.
Maat was not a fun fight.
This game like every other game needs to be fun. Not a epicly redundent mess of frustration.
I do not want to see another kill 100 mobs with a slow weak weapon. That was stupid not challenging.
Why do people here want this game to be niche like ffxi? We need a much bigger player base then ffxi. Mostly because waiting 6hrs or 6 mnths to get a mission done or to level up is a waste.
I'm not asking for easy, but challenge is subjective. And need a balance, not too easy not too hard. Or no one will join the game.
with that said, I would like to see the quest similar to AF quests in ffxi.
Well I agreed with you at first, but there definitely needs to be some form of time sink in it. Killing 100 monsters with that slow ass sword in FFXI wasn't too bad because you became a DRK afterwards and that was awesome. Edit: Oh, and I thought Maat was a fun fight but pissed me off when I lost >.<
Hm...you dont play very much do you?there is a difference between a challange and a redundent time sink. Seems most here want the latter. They already said how it will be. You get a class to a certain rank and do a quest. And that the job is a more specialized form of said class.

And before you rampage on my reply, i find it really hard to take anyone serious when they have a Signature (wich auto updates now & then) with 2 classes below r20.
1-20 you do in a few hours... if i were you i spend more time actually playing than posting things.
The point is, obviously & visually it looks just plain "Bad" having that signature of yours... lol
