YAAARRRRRGH! I BREAK MY FAST ON GARLEANS! AND RIGHT NOW IM VERY HUNGRY!
Not really. I love the game and I'm just waiting for more stuff. I want vanity slots..
Not yet. Crystal Tower is missing, meaning once I finish Darklight and my Relic, I'm gonna have to do something else OTHER than mindlessly grind Myth tomes because CT was supposed to be there and I sure would hate myself if I went through all that trouble of just grinding myth tomes and nothing else only to have CT's gear become useless to me. :3

XI Launch and FFXIV ARR Launch side by side? Practically a stalemate. FFXIV ARR has a slight edge personally.
FFXIV 1.0 Launch and FFXI Launch side by side? XI wins by a landslide.
We're talking ARR though :P.
XI at NA launch was absolutely incredible. That game was about as good as it gets. They ruined it now. There will probably never be another FFXI. It's hard to hold XIV to those same standards.
XIV is fun. It has a ton of faults. But I still like it for what it is. I paid for 6 months. I probably won't play past that. I played FFXI from 2003-2009.
They could probably speed combat up a little . Seems to take forever just to kill trash even .Personally I thought FFXI was better. Better music, better story. Yes, FFXIV is more convenient for today's economy. Here I am at level 50 with my Duty Finder up trying to find a dungeon to do. Yes the game is still early but still it feels really slow. I don't think the game is even worth 12.99. It should be dropped to 9.99 and for the Legacy people, it should be 4.99. What is your opinion?
But I have a solution to this . Allow 6 man groups 4 dps 1 healer 1 tank . Imagine how fast it would be then .
BUTTT they would need to adjust tanking slightly to hold agro better , with 4 dps it could be a nightmare .
Wont ever happen but we can dream![]()
Better than the first few months of 1.0 by miles. FF11 was fun although took FOREVER to find pts for and complete most content. This game you can hop in, do 2-3 dungeons, and logoff in 2 hrs. I much prefer the current game due to being busy irl and working off hours.
If you think FFXI is better, then go play it. It's still runningPersonally I thought FFXI was better. Better music, better story. Yes, FFXIV is more convenient for today's economy. I for one am satisfied. All it needs is more content, which is always an issue early in an MMO's life.
What? You've got that wrong...
FFXIV 1.0 Launch and FFXI Launch side by side? That is a stalemate leaning towards XI, probably part of the reason they thought it was OK to launch XIV in that state. ARR has vastly more content than XI did at launch;
FFXI:
Lv50 cap.
Over a dozen combat classes.
HELM (Harvesting, Fishing, Logging, Mining, Chocobo Digging).
8 Crafting classes (you could only level 1 to cap).
Transport (Airships, Boats, Chocobos, Teleports although they were largely restrictive, no personal mounts though).
Up to Rank 6 in the storyline.
Various NMs (most of the commonly known ones came in with RotZ, I think there were about 2 or 3 worthwhile ones for endgame at launch?).
Garrision.
BCNMs.
Various quests.
FFXIV 1.0:
Lv50 cap, with two levels to gain a la FFV/etc (Physical/Class).
Seven combat Classes.
Disciples of Land (Botany combined XIs Harvesting and Logging, Miner and Fishing are self apparent).
Disciples of Hand (again, 8, this time you can level all of them though).
No transport what-so-ever except teleports.
Similar main story progression.
No real NMs from what I recall.
Levequests.
Guildhest.
Various class specific quests.
FFXIV ARR:
Lv50 cap with Physical levels cut.
Eight combat Classes.
Disciples of Land.
Disciples of Hand.
Transport with personal mounts.
Again, similar story progression... Wonder if they'll retcon the current ending like they did with XI...
FATEs replacing NMs, though no drops.
Levequests, and Guildhest... They're really not too different now...
16 dungeons, not counting the two final story ones.
3 Primal battles.
Job specific equipment, ranging from AF, to AF1.5 (or whatever we're calling it now...) and Relic weapons.
Various quests.
Am I forgetting anything?
Oh, and first major content patches...
FFXIs was the RotZ expansion, which came out nearly a year after launch. Including, off the top of my head:
Three new Jobs; Dragoon, Ninja and Samurai.
A host of new zones.
Summoner battles for the six elemental avatars (you can compare these to Primals I guess).
New NMs.
Some new missions.
Obviously it added more down the line, but XI has never released all its content for an expansion up front. Dynamis came a ways down the line, as did Sky.
FFXIV ARRs first major content patch? Before the end of the year and I hope I don't need to list what that's adding...
If you're going to use FFXIs NA launch to compare, then we should be waiting for the PS4 version of FFXIV ARR to do a proper comparison... But even then I think that's unfair, I'm fairly sure we're getting the PS4 version faster than NA got FFXI...

1-50 had some cool moments. Overall the game is one of the most shallow and boring ones I have played though.
