No.... Housing should take work and should be an accomplishment. Why is it that everyone wants handouts these days?

The only accomplishment involved in getting a house, is to simply grind up the ridiculous pay wall. What accomplishments are you displaying exactly?

Most other games, make housing accessible, because it's there to be enjoyed. Make the decorations reflect effort. Unique trophies, etc. Don't make getting a house outside the reach of most players. Remember, the number one complaint is lack of things to do at end game. So why take what could be a huge end game activity and hide it behind a joyless, unobtainable (for most) pricetag?

Also you're making a lot of assumptions and acting as if seeing houses of inactive players in any way ruins your game. As if most people even pay attention to that.

There is a lot more to this game than just end-game already. Let's not forget crafting/gathering. SE shouldn't just give away houses if you don't want to play the whole game for what it is. Sorry, MMO's involve more than just dungeon grinds. Other things are grinds as well, just like housing will be.

I'm glad that it will require some work and effort.

Am I the only one concerned about the long wait for personal housing? 1-3 months is doable, but 6 months (after 2.1 drops) seems like an eternity. I guess there is some technical reason for the delay, but it is just odd that content that naturally should be a selling point to players and has been worked on for so long is being restricted to most players. No FC is going to give everyone house designing/furniture placement rights. It would be like playing the same Sims game with 10-20 other people. Complete Chaos. Instead, it will be FC leaders and officers making most of the aesthetic decisions, as it should be to avoid that. It seems that many players in FCs are going to be removed from the design portion of housing.

Am I the only one that see's this as good thing? Now I'll have time to acquire a healthy bank account and get a start on all my crafts before housing is implemented. Just chill and let the game develop, sheesh....

I agree with everyone that has been saying, if these are the prices for personal housing, expect Gil seller spam to get worse. He'll if they are going to stubbornly stick to the "plot of land are finite" and if they make them re-salable, the only way to get one will be through Gil sellers

850K is nothing. I have almost that and I've been putting very little effort into making gil. Just selling a few things here and there and selling what I can from leveling my crafts. If I actually put a concerted effort into making profit rather than building my crafts right now, I'd have 10X more gil than I currently do.

I can only imagine how easy it'll be to make gill when I can use all my time/materials collected for profit rather than leveling new crafts.

6 months after 2.1 is not acceptable. Housing should have been available at release. It's another smack in the face that they are releasing FC housing only...Not everyone is in an FC. With the very limited space in this game we need housing now. I won't last 6 more months without a house. Please get er done faster! I've already saved my 1 million gil. I'm ready to buy my house!

I noticed the missing gil amount as well... but really we do not know what he bought.

There was at least one plot of land (keep in mind he entered all 3 housing sizes in the video)
At least one house
Many different types of gates, windows, doors etc etc
Quite a few outside furnishings (mailbox, table, chairs, tree, cannon thingy)

We don't know if he bought all those things, or if he only bought a few, or if he bought ANY at all... so I would take that missing gil with a grain of salt.

wow i was hoping for something like 250k 300k for the small house... so far i saved 200k..
850k seems more reasonable for the FC house, since all the members of the FC could cash some gil in to buy it.

That might not be accurate, just FYI. They stated very recently that they won't determine the final cost of housing until right before the release at which point they will take a look at the economy and determine the cost based on that.
