omg people walking nonstop instead of running = annoying=headache we need to remove that along with these leve quest which =annoying=headache along with all these people that dont want change which = annoying=headache.
Thats the only "type" of Jump I would want at least for me anyways, Is to Jump where it's Needed to jump =)I still support the "only in some spots" jumping style of FFXIII.
And bullcrap on that "Only 1/5 people in WoW bunnyhop!" statement. Every Rogue bunnyhops in WoW, and even then, some other people do it to do it. Even so, 20% of the people I see bunnyhopping? Yeah, no thanks.
That's not why I don't support it though. It'd just be kinda weird for them to have jumping without anything to do with it :L They'd have to make it so there's something to actually DO with jumping (such as jumping puzzles in dungeons) before they actually implement jumping for me...otherwise, there's no reason to actually have voluntary jumping other than bunnyhopping :/ Any cliff you could jump on/over right now makes you walk on/off it instead. The furthest they could do to "jump" with that is make it the auto-jump from FFXIII.
A.k.a context sensitive jump, which is present in most RPGs before it was turned into yet another action game genre.
Classic. Lol.-Obviously this idea, while nice at first glance, is in clear violation of the Final Fantasy Code section 22, "Special Guidelines for the Implementation of Jump as a Last Resort". I quote, "No special timing delays may be implemented in a Final Fantasy game to limit the jumping animation to more closely align with advances in realistic physics presentation".
You SEE SE??? This is what happens when you threaten to implement jumping! Starlord is gonna bail the second he sees the massive influx of players drawn to the jumping feature. Don't let this happen SE! Starlord is the kind of gamer you want to have around.
Thank you Starlord you and I see eye to eye. There is not a 1 percent chance out of 2 that jumping could add any strategic element to battles whatsoever. Jumping over ground effects from a boss would not add in any way to strategy or fun at all. It would only be a stupid hassle, which is why jumping shouldn't be implemented. Also yes it causes conflicts with other players. MAJOR conflicts! I once witnessed a 3 day power battle in WoW started over 1 single bunny hopper in Goldshire. We are talking practically riots in the streets. Just imagine, 1 player somewhere, hitting the jump button over and over.. and over.. and over.. and over.. throwing the entire server into a blind, uncontrollable rage. Because it has nothing to do with maturity if you get upset over someone bunny hopping. You can be a totally mature person and see that one person bunny hopping, and quit the game. It's SE's responsibility to make sure the game is acceptable to the type of player that can't stand to see bunny hopping. I'm pretty sure it said that somewhere on the website before the new team took over.
SE should leave this decision to an expert:

"Every Rogue Bunny hops" Lol, Bull$hit. I can't believe people actually get mad about someone hitting the jump button over and over, never once has it ever bothered me in any game. You see people spin around or sit afk with their bazaar up, it is all the same to me. Plus with the way they worded it I really doubt it would be a bunny hop, in WoW it was a fluid motion like every other aspect of the game. FFXIV words it as a "Jump Feature" and not a "Jump Button" also I highly doubt the jump in this game would feel anything like WoW's, it would be kind of slow and lethargic looking and probably only able to use under certain situations or you have to be moving or something.
The main reason people don't want jump in this game because WoW how it and somehow they think by adding a jump that it will all the sudden turn to WoW. That train of thought is ignorant and think about the type of people who play FFXIV/FFXI over people who play WoW full time, I highly doubt you are going to see them bunny hopping around.
When one person jumps they all start to jump...You SEE SE??? This is what happens when you threaten to implement jumping! I don't mind Limited Jumping that has some sort of immersion purpose to it, but free for all jumping.. not my style
I wont leave the game over jumping, mainly because I love the Final Fantasy feel of the game.. However, jumping would take a step backwards in the Final Fantasy feel of the game, Correct me if im wrong.. there wasn't any form of jumping ( excluding Chocobo related jumping) in any of the Final Fantasy games.
Quitting a game because of jump is illogical , immoral, and plain ignorant. Neptune there was many battles in WoW and other games where jump was utilized effectively and without hassle. It adds options and some flair to the game whether you dislike it or not, you are stating opinion and I am stating facts. In my honest opinion if you quit a game because you see someone jumping or bunny hopping, the game is way better off without you playing and giving any criticism at all and your opinion should be void. You SEE SE??? This is what happens when you threaten to implement jumping! Starlord is gonna bail the second he sees the massive influx of players drawn to the jumping feature. Don't let this happen SE!
