Same here, have been playing since EA, got my Relic +1 and entering BCoB...leveling alts now, plan to start crafting/gathering...

Always try to talk to all NPCs with a name...and for those without name, will approach to see what fun things they say.

Many armor pieces to collect, many minions to collect, looking forward to future patch especially Vanity slot and housing. There's so much to do in this game, never get bored thus far.

Just a message to those who think that people who've been playing for 3 years have nothing to do. It ended up being much longer than I expected so feel free to not read if you don't like long posts.

I've been playing since 1.0 beta. I admit I stopped for a while, the beginning was really bad.

As an addict to the FF series since FF6, I'm always trying to get everything there is to get in a FF game, that is the true fun of the Series, besides the amazing stories, of course. On the course of 3 years, I got all my battle classes to 50, all crafting classes to 50, and both BTN and MIN to 50, I'm currently working on Fisher, the last class I haven't capped. I'm not a big fan of fishing, either in game or in real life, but what gives me fun is seeing my character progress. Seeing everything getting capped, and then I tell myself "Hey, I'm getting close to having done everything."

But then I open the achievement list...

After 3 years of playing, I haven't got half the achievements in that game. There is so much in that list left to be done that I really don't think I'll ever get close to completing it. Some stuff I like to do, some stuff I hate. I still do them, because that is the challenge of that game, getting everything there is to get. I've ran countless AK/CM/WP/Praetorium for tombstones, changing from one to another to make sure I don't get too bored. I've reached turn 5 of Coil, had a lot of fun working on turn 4. I'm at work now. When I get home, I'm watching that live letter about housing and then, I'm logging back in, because I still have so much stuff to do... Working on my 4th relic, gearing up one of those jobs that is still using AK gears, fishing, doing my grand company hunting log, looking for Behemoth or Odin in hope I end up getting the gold medal achievements... The list goes on!

I, too, love this game. I don't think it's lacking content. It is a 3 years old game, but it has less than a year old content. None of the old content is still there, all the content there is is brand new. All of the wolrd has been remade. They didn't take the whole game and add stuff to it. They remade it, completely. And that is to be considered as if it was a new game. It can't have as much content as FFXI had in the zilart days (the north american release) because at that time FFXI had an expansion, and even with an expansion, there was not a ton to do.

We know a lot is coming. Housing, PvP, The crystal tower, Good King Moggle Mog XII, Extreme primals (those who think Titan hard is super hard, brace yourselves, Titan extreme is coming), The Gold Saucer, Tier additions to Coil and the crystal tower, Hard mode dungeons, more new dungeons, more chapters to the story.... And most of what I just named is coming as soon as 2.1!

You guys may not like gathering, crafting, grinding stones-farming dungeons or leveling alts, but the fact that it is content that your character can do without having to switch to another means that it is considered content, and if you chose to not do it you are in no right to claim the lack of content. The content is there, you are just not doing it.

TLDR: I've been playing for 3 years and I still love the game.

Casual gamers do not complain about lack of content ever, because true casual gamers never reach end game. All these whiners are actually hardcore players that plays over 12 hours a day and exploit their way through everything. As long as SE releases new content every 3 months, these whiners will threaten to quit, but they won't because they are addicted.

I'm a huge final fantasy fan but I sadly don't love this game. They took all the wrong things from WoW and forgot all the great sense of journey and adventure that made FFXI so great.

I hate this game, yall. It sucks. But I stuck around long enough to get max level just because it sucks so much. I also hate it so much that I go to the forums and make nearly two dozen posts.

I don't. Obviously, which is why I'm still level 48 after 2 months of leveling a single job.
People only spam dungeons end-game because of top of the line gear and the other dungeons are useless because it's a one time dungeon usually.
I do help people who need runs though, granted, if I do not lag lol. Boost up the EXP in dungeons please!

The question is, why not enjoy other content, even user created content?

Naked Races, group hangouts, or even just helping other people get through the game.

I woulden't call those who've reached 50 at this point casual, if they've leveled from 1. Some of them? Maybe they play at a casual pace ,but have a lot of time on their hands. Me? I'm 44 on my current character. And I've got a whole other character to level his primary job up too.
There's more to the game than what's layed out in front of you. There are more entertaining ways to level than fate grinds. Are they the fastest? Absolutely not! Are they more fun? Try it and see. There's so much content you can just skip over because of the feeling of wanting to be max level. Take some time to try out the stuff that isn't best/most efficient.

Me? Just battle content. I've armor sets to collect from each level range. I've still got most of my Behests I need to do. I've yet to hit or explore every major hub or hit every leve available. There are PLENTY of Fates I've not yet encountered. I've not even hit the Beastmen Strongholds, really.

Except the exact opposite is true. If you trash talk the game, you get tons of people who agree with you. This whole general discussion forum is filled with almost nothing but hate and contempt for this game. But if you decide to make a single positive thread about the game, you get swarmed by people who dislike the game.

It makes no sense. I've played tons of MMOs but never once did I go to the forums of one I didn't like and post dozens or hundreds of times regarding my dislike for the game. And I certainly didn't continue to play for months at a time hoping it would magically transform into my perfect game. I simply moved on to another game. So, ironically, I agree with you that this game has the worst community.

There is no power leveling in ffxiv arr, pl was from 1.0.
