Ambiguous patch details? My, how surprising...
A new challenge awaits.
My take is, that bards were intended to have the lowest dps due to their good support and in tank and spank fights thats usually how it looks like. However in battles with lots of mechanics they can pull ahead a bit and be 2nd best dps for example. So maybe they wont nerf their dps but rather make some quality of life changes to make it a bit harder to deal max dmg in fights with lots of dodging.
Just a thought.
Perhaps they need to change the game mechanic of running and dodging almost the entire battle so that melee DPS can actually do damage without having to constantly getting interrupted.... It's a rather cheap mechanic that does need to be adjusted, and not the bard or the drg or monk class itself...
I would rather they buff the melee dps than nerf bards because bards are extremely useful for their utilities (mp/tp songs, silences, foe's requiem, etc) in raids. If they kept everything the same and just nerfed bard's damage, raid parties with bards would lose out on dps and it would make the raids (coil) more difficult.
Still waiting to hear some details. I'm not too worried as 2.1 is quite a long ways off. Until then, I'll keep enjoying being the top DPS in any group I happen to be apart of.
It's unfortunate but life goes on. I'll be sticking with the class/job.
Because the ONLY job you see raids calling out for are Bards. Never or hardly see any other FC/groups call out for any other particular class but bards...
But It's mainly due to a few good reasons.
*Songs
*Range DPS
*Great DPS
*Silences
*and the fact that Melee get F_cked with any boss in game thanks to aoe/cleave dmg.
Mechanics of the game are hurting the classes in the game.

They actually briefly mentioned tuning fights so they don't punish melee as much. Meh, huge churn is going to hit this game before 2.1 is released anyway. So it won't effect too many people.
