Bump for getting something out of old gear.

Bump for getting something out of old gear. Don't want material from Darklight gear.
I think it was designed like this to act as a time sink, so it's unlikely.
And I oppose it. There needs to be certain things that just spells "I spent a lot of time on this game" and getting full DL for everything could be one of it. I know it's time consuming, I'm also someone who likes to be useful to my raid in multiple roles, but I think this time sink is not that unreasonable.

Especially since DL is only 5010 Philosophy.I think it was designed like this to act as a time sink, so it's unlikely.

Getting a full Vanya+Rose Gold/Astral set (all equip slots) will take you well beyond 17000 tomes, and then you have to 5-meld them to make them hot, which will fail a lot, and cost you an arm and a leg just in materia. Or months to convert and make them yourself.
17000 tomes is 4 million gil in tome materials (at 30k per).
But then you can use it for vanity purpose (when vanity is out), and it's much better than DL, and debatably equal (some say superior) to AF2. That's your reward, just don't delete it.
I don't Play FFXIV for Vanity. But trying to Penta-Meld/Forbidden-Meld cost a lot of gil trust me.Especially since DL is only 5010 Philosophy.

I feel your concern on this but I don't think giving back more tomes would be right. They want you to spend time on getting the sets for each class, not 2 classes and then flip flop your gears. Maybe in the future special DL materia that can only be fused to AF2 , or maybe only to PVP gear and they have special stats specific to pvp. Or they can break down into points used for upgrading to better pvp gear. Just something that doesn't allow you to cycle DL for each class as you get your better gears.
Trading in old gear to get identical gear for another class, or even gil items? I can't even begin to describe how stupid this sounds.
I'd like to know if there are any MMOs that allow you to this.
All I have to say is: 'Tee-hee'
Shouldn't have got so much DL gear when AK gear would suffice 90% of the time until you get af2. Did you run a ton of CM or something? Should've saved those tomes for an alt class's accessories and such.
That's an awesome idea! but but unless the cap is increased on ToM wouldn't it defeat the purpose of even running the dungeons? I mean! Lets say the body gives you 400 but the cap is 300, you'd be screwing yourself over on 100 ToM >_< and if you're like me that just likes to run dungeons and stop playing for week once capped it would ruin your gametime (If you're like me that is! hehe. . .I know I'm a weirdo please don't WK-roflstomp me! >_<)
It would be pretty sadness >_< I'd rather they increase the cap or lower cost to tell the truth, but that's just me >_<
It's a great Idea though! hehe
Greetings,
The development team will be carefully examining the pros and cons of implementing an exchange system like this, while also giving careful consideration towards items that are implemented in the future and the value of items that can be exchanged.
