    Actually, to be REALLY fair. If HNMs drop the best stuff in the game (and that was true for FFXI for a very long time) you were indeed forced to do it if you wanted to have the best gear (which is basically why most people actually do endgame).

    Competing for claims is honestly crap gameplay, regardless if some think its "fun". Most people that liked doing HNMs in FFXI would tell me that they liked them because they could go afk between windows. That's some awesome gameplay right there.
