I did see that, and they went pure speed-run skipping chests etc. What they did could just as easily (or more easily) be done with a warrior.
The concept in my video is the same, they just spent more time refining the run for pure speed. They also used a bind bug to de-aggro 2 mobs on the 2nd boss, which saves at least 1.5 - 2 minutes.
Regardless, the point of this video is to show other tanks how a speed-run can be achieved.

This is such a false statement! I have both a PLD and WAR geared and was doing these runs last night. You stopped several times to allow for mobs to be killed or health lowered before moving on. As a PLD I can pull everything before the first boss to two groups have them AOE down and survive. I know my warrior would die quickly trying to do that. Running as a PLD will let you clear faster and easier.
I like playing on my WAR as it is more exciting, but in no instance does a WAR tank make things easier in it's current state!
Simple question: did you skip the beetle chest on that 2-pull before first boss? That changes things drastically - a warrior could just as easily two-pull if you skip the 2nd set of beetles. I chose not to just to be on the safe side seeing as half of my party was PUG.
Regarding me saying the pulls could be done easily with a warrior: we have better AOE aggro, and the risk of losing aggro to AOE's is much lower. On that 10 minute pally run I saw the pally losing aggro on some groups, and on one pull the BLM was down to 1% HP from aggro issues.
So basically whats happened here is that somebody made an topic about SPEEDRUNNING an dungeon. and then complains that people skip optional stuff?
And the clarification why does not skip is to be "safe", thats not really speedrunning.
Sorry if it came across as a complaint, didn't mean that to be the case, but was more of an explanation as to time differences between the different run styles.
The point of the video was not to try to show the fastest possible way to run a dungeon, but instead to try to inspire other tanks/players to push for speed runs. The tome grind is not fun for anyone, and the faster you can get it out of the way, the better.

AOE Aggro isn't really the problem. The problem, particularly with the first pull, is the fact that you have 3 tonberrys and 4 birds on you, and however many bettles are still up. AFAIK there would be no way for a WAR to do that in one pull. You would have to split it up into two. Even as a PLD I have to hallowed ground for that pull, and use all of the rest of my cooldowns on the next one.Regarding me saying the pulls could be done easily with a warrior: we have better AOE aggro, and the risk of losing aggro to AOE's is much lower. Would love to see you do that pull entirely with a WAR, not convinced you could do it though.
I do it regularly now, actually. I haven't re-posted a video, but can if you'd like.AOE Aggro isn't really the problem. I will say that after seeing the 9 minute video I tried to push for it myself. I do all the same pulls as the PLD does in his video, but we can only get the run down to 12 minutes. I believe the difference comes from the defensive CD's pally's get being superior to Warrior's, so the WHM can Holy spam on pulls. The heals are so dedicated on keeping me up on the first & last pull that there is only time to cast 1 maybe 2 Holy's.
