It might speed up getting a group, but unless you actually know all those languages it's at the cost of not being as able to work with the group once you get in. Not a very good tradeoff as far as I can see.

Even those early dungeons have some mechanics that you'll want to check whether everyone knows. (In Sastasha, for instance, make sure everyone in the group knows about the bubbling water in the final boss fight.) Now, it's possible you'll get lucky and be in a group where everybody already knows the dungeon, but I wouldn't count on it, not in a random group where you can't even talk to your teammates.

Thanks for the tips, but what a farking joke. I wait around another hour and finally get a Sastasha group and get through it. Whew. So I go turn in quest and do the next step thinking I am finally going to get a chance to actually play the game for awhile and blammo: next quest takes you to a, wait for it, DUNGEON!

Back to the duty finder for another indefinite amount of time. Im only freaking lv 18. I dont know if Im going to stick with this...

If you're not too concerned about the content of the dungeons you can check the "join in progress" box. There's no real quest CSs in the early dungeons so you aren't missing much.

You are basically trying to match 100 DPS to 1 Tank and 1 Healer. Thank goodness I have a tank friend, we que into dungeons within seconds every time.

Unfortunately the main storyline from 15-20 requires you to do three dungeons in succession (Sastasha, Tam Tara Deepcroft and Copperbell Mines), culminating with the Ifrit battle at level 20, so you have no way around this if you want to progress.

You can get good armour drop in the three dungeons (Acolyte and Foestriker sets specifically) so it's still well worth running again even when you've passed them, and that goes for most dungeons as well.

Also unfortunately for you, as you're a THM, you'll have a hard time trying to find a DF party as there is an imbalance in DD classes/Jobs compared to tanks and healers - if you tried as one of those classes you would probably have a better chance. Don't despair! You'll get through them eventually.

the problem is not his DPS class, but at this point , low level story dungeons are already deserted
the game's been out for 2 months, and the majority of players are already at endgame or on their 30-50 (casuals)

in open world, low level players are still scattered everywhere, but they rarely do low level dungeons, FATE is the way to go
we need new players to do story dungeons, not people who are leveling their sub classes

Or find a way to make dungeons at any levels more rewarding. That way, even if an older player re-rolls a character, they can still play older dungeons. As they queue, it increases the pool of potential teammates. This also extends to other worlds in the same region, seeing as DF is cross-server.

I have a Lv50 Paladin, and am training up a Thaumaturge myself, but the ridiculous queue times for Sastasha/Tam-tara/Copperbell really makes me wonder why I decided to train a DPS, as I'm a dungeon person.

True but you can always use the autotranslate for at least basic communication plus plenty of users speak multiply languages as well. This would be mainly usefull for repeated runs and when you're leveling up the secondary classes but I use this all the time and never had really problem to communicate with other in the dungeons. I have macros with auto-translations for a majority of the communications needs and that helps a lot as well as fact that I can undestand multiply languages as too.

Currently the Dungeon Finder has been split into "Groups". See this thread on how they're sorted.

So let's say a Healer on Moogle wanted to do Satasha. On the flipside, 2 DPS and a Tank on Titan can be stuck waiting for a healer. Sadly, they never find each other because the servers aren't grouped together.

If all the servers were together on the Duty Finder, I'm 99% sure most dungeons would have people in them. They wanted more stability for the Duty Finder, but sadly it came at the loss of the ability to quickly form groups for dungeons.

My advice? Join a Free Company, or get friends to help you do it. Or, you can level a crafting class while you wait. It passes the time, crafting can be surprisingly fun.

    Good luck!

Like you, I have had to wait, and wait and wait to get into Satasha. I spent three consecutive mornings waiting to get into Satasha. I never got into a a group, even after waiting 4-hours each morning. Since I was playing during the daytime I expected to have to wait - but this is rediculous.

It wasn't until the Columbus Day holiday that I finally got into a group, after a 1.5-hour wait.

I even tried to make my character a L24 Conjurer so that I could enter Satasha as a healer. Unfortunately, the lack of quests and the difficulty of finding sufficient FATEs made the grinding so unpleasant that I gave it up after a week of trying. I was (and still am) saving my Leves to advance my Weaving past the Dew Thread debacle. In the end I just bit the bullet and queued up as a L29 THM.
