It's really simple: If SE didn't intend for different languages to intermingle, there would be no built-in Auto-Translator, especially with phrases designated just for telling everyone you only speak a certain language, and dictating assignments/instructions in duties. If that bothers such an extremely small minority of people, they have the option of leaving if they feel they are being harassed or "bad mannered" simply because someone doesn't speak their language natively. One could make the argument that because someone doesn't KNOW what to do in the duty finder, yet joins a duty without knowing the duty, this too is fraudulent behavior - again, using the same logic being used for languages.

You have to purposefully tick the language to join it in that language. However joining a duty you are not yet familiar with is part of natural game progression.

And please stop with the "minority" thing, as nobody but Square Enix have the actual numbers. So there's no point bringing an assumed democracy into the discussion.

Indeed. Of all the things people are sensitive about, language barriers definitely should not be one of them. SE has done the best they can to not only accommodate those with language barriers, but also encourages it by use of the same. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just being selfish.

People should not be forced to wait 2-3 hours for a duty finder group, when the average wait time for that server is 20-30 minutes because of the primary language spoken there. Saying someone who doesn't know the language, but has run that duty hundreds of times and knows every inch of it by heart, but is not allowed to group with anyone but their own language speakers, is just mean and to quote someone else: is bad manners, arguably a fraudulent behaviour.

I get that you just want to dump my own words on me, but at least make an effort to find words that would make sense in your context. :3

Point is, there are Japanese players who are bothered by non-Japanese speaking people who join with J enabled yet are unable to communicate and then cause trouble. That is the context of the words "bad manners, arguably fraudulent", in their words (obviously translated by me).

I know a lot of players on this forum couldn't care less what other people think or feel from their game time, but consideration for others and avoid doing what others don't want, is part of the Japanese culture, part of their up-bringing.

Please keep that in mind next time you do JEDF and can't understand a word of Japanese. Don't be surprised if you're not treated well and come crying that Japanese people are rude towards foreigners. Because in that case you started the rudeness first.

Since day one i use all languages ticked. I only speak E and G. I play on a japanese server.
90% of the groups i did/do are/were japanese speaking,, with the rare english speaking person in.
I had good groups, i had bad groups. I had good mannered J players, who like me, /bow at entrance and say something to greet.
I had bad mannered J players who didnt care for a /bow or any greeting and zerged the dungeon, leaving w/o coment at the end.
I had good and bad E players. Same examples as with the J.

All this "we need one language only groups" stuff is so 1936 it makes me vomit.
You have good and bad mannered people regardless of language or nationality. Most people i have encountered are good people manner wise.

Point is: You can have all facettes of behaviour coming from all countrys, G, E, J orF. Heck, one of the persons on my friends list is french and we speak english together.

You make your game and how other people see you is totally up to you, not to a language.
