Speed-running cut-scene skippers...

Just my 2 cents concerning watching cut scenes in instances:

In my first run of The Praetorium through duty finder there were 2 people who continually watched all the cut scenes and the rest of us moved forward without them (I personally prefer to catch up on the cut scenes inside the inn). Sadly, we beat the instance with barely any time left. If we all had waited for the 2 people to finish watching all of their cut scenes, or watched them ourselves, we definitely would not have finished the instance in time.

You can say what you want about "those mean speed runners" but especially when you have people just new to 50, still wearing a lot of lower level gear, you have to take into account lower DPS and the possibility of mistakes ending in wipes. *NEWS FLASH* YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO WATCH THE LAST CUT SCENE IF YOU DON'T ACTUALLY BEAT IT.

To combat this ongoing problem all SE needs to do is make every instance drop tomes once you hit 50. You start over leveling a new job? No problem you'll get 25 tomes for doing Sastasha! It can scale up as the dungeons go up so the 47-50 dungeons all give 100 or whatever the max will be down the road. I'm just sick of doing the same 1-2 dungeons OVER and OVER for hundreds of times. Screw that noise.

I don't care if someone watches CS, just don't ask us to wipe on a boss or wait for you to catch up. We have places to be and things to do as well. Watch CS for all I care, the speedrunners are usually able to do the instance fast, and you can watch cs while we kill things.

Which by not at least waiting for the person tells people they can just AFK the whole thing and get Tomes anyways.

Not too sure about who you are talking about. I still haven't got around to loading the cutscenes in my inn room.

This topic sounds like a chorus, you know that part of a song that always comes back.

So I'll just throw my bridge, an old post I made on this very issue twenty days ago.

My only advice would be to find a like-minded group, and there are two main ways you may find that i suppose.

- Thinking ahead of endgame as a whole: find a nice Free Company (or LinkShell) in which, like mine, people are sincerely glad to run CM/Praetorium for their first timers with no pressure whatsoever ─strategy explained as icing on the cake. That's a long term approach you'll probably appreciate: you'll enjoy nice first times as well for Wanderer's Palace, Amdapor, all three Primordial fights, and so on. It really makes endgame that much more enjoyable to discover/run it in friendly company. Then you can give back, and participate in nice first runs for those of your companions who'll hit 50 after you. It's like a small ripple effect, win-win.

- The shortest solution, should you not have a Free Company, is to sit a bit in front of the CM/Praetorium entrance, preferably on prime time / busy hours, and ask those that come (obviously for story purposes, like you) if they wish to do these dungeons while enjoying story telling. Maybe find (among your friend list, or in Mordona shouting) just one experienced player, a nice guy, who can fill you guys on fight tactics ─though not complicated at all, knowing a bit about these encounters will ensure they go smoothly.

I'm pretty sure both these solutions can help alleviate the speed run issue on your first time; and through my former advice (Free Company or LinkShell), you'll get much more than a run or two, eventually. You'll get companions, even friends, for the long haul, and that is priceless. Some would even go as far as to say it's the real purpose of MMORPG; and I, for one, after more than a decade playing in permanent online worlds, can only concur with this vision.

If you wanna watch the cutscenes, then form a premade to watch them. Ditto with skipping them. But if you queue for random dungeon finder, be prepared to meet people with different opinions and playstyles than yourself. You dont need to make a thread everytime you dont get your way.

Its all good and well making these threads trying to rage over nothing
your watching the cs one time , these ppl probably did this for the 100th time and got stuck with the CS watcher for the 20th time
for the last few weeks i dint encounter anyone that wanted to watch the cs

sad part is these ppl are usually the ppl that going to rage and harras ppl that want to watch cs later wen THEY are farming the instances

instead of suggesting they make it obligated to watch the thing , make it a option in the dutyfinder screen that you dont want to skip cs and than it will only join you with other ppl that want to see the cs , have fun lfg for 20 hour because no one is going to do that
