When I played WoW, I ran Karazhan for four months trying to get Gorehowl to drop. Eventually, it did drop, and I kept it as a keepsake until I finally quit.

RNGs suck. But it is oh-so satisfying when they pay off for you.

however, ifrit weapon will be obsolete as soon as you get garuda/relic weapon, which may be days or even just hours away
it's not that satisfying

The problem is that people only run it to "need". Do what I do, help people out for fun and I promise, you will enjoy the game and get every weapon before you even need it!

Oh trust me I feel your pain. My retainer is has a whole collection of ifrit and garuda weaps from when I ran them and couldn't get my weap for my job. I have weaps for classes I haven't started yet, and ones that are in their teen levels. But do I have one Ifrit or Garuda weapon that's useful now? NOOOOOOOOOOO! I'm going to have to continue the collection just to find a SMN weap. Got plenty of SCH ones though <.<

The other day my friend did a run on his PLD, and to his surprise (and obvious excitement), the other PLD there had his relic. Low and behold, the sword drops! The relic PLD however said something along the lines of "you don't deserve it", so he need rolled it, won, and left, leaving my friend sitting there empty handed all because somebody wanted to be a dick.

You have no idea how difficult it is to coordinate a random pug into focus firing nails. The suffering of wiping over and over and over again, just because we couldn't burn that last nail. Never again.
