Concern Baiting involving Support, Gil issues.

Hey, I've been an avid poster on many MMO forums over the years and I just felt the need to come out and say something about the state of these forums for those who may have only played a few games.

Beware of Concern Trolling.

The short definition is when someone who has nothing better to do, or perhaps has a vendetta, comes onto to forums and tries to create fear and panic in the forum community.

I don't doubt SE support is having trouble meeting everyones needs, and clearly some shenanigans went down involving player gil,

but, I would be willing to bet the VAST MAJORITY of what you are seeing on the forums is just made up nonsense to start arguments, to flame SE, or just to cause problems in general.

Just when you read some of these threads, remember that there is a Technical and Billing support forum, and that is where someone genuinely seeking help would be. Not on the General Discussion forums.

It is not Trolling if it is true. Remember, SE is primarily is single person, console game developer and as such never had much need for customer service. They are obviously under the mistaken impression that MMOs can be handled by the same level of Customer Service and will not change it. The fallacy of this approach has been long documented here and elsewhere since the early days of FFXI. If SE truly cares about providing proper service then they should study how the good games do it and then expend the resources to implement it. The same is true for their GM services.

People are complaining about SE but then you comes along claiming the majority are shenaningans. Replace the "create fear and panic" in the quote with "because of fanboy goggles" and well there you have it, your description might describe your own post...?

Sorry but there ARE real concerns and they ARE being addressed by Square Enix, this is a vaporware thread and seems to be exactly what you are trying to falisly warn us about....a false attempt to derail legitimate concerns ie Gil Selling mostly but other bugs that are being addressed.
