Speed-running cut-scene skippers...

As I thought, people nitpick the analogies I posted and don't get the message. But to mention some things:

1) The 100 tomestones in CM and Prae are there as an incentive to help (key word here) people run those story duties. Same as you would watch the movie with your friend just to be polite towards him/her (your incentive in this case is something called friendship, but maybe that's not enough for some).

2) As I said, you were granted a limited edition gift for attending (one that you really want). It's done sometimes, at least where I live, as a special promotion. And if you want to fast forward the film and just collect the prize as you say, you are screwing everyone else in the room. Just like in CM. If you don't see what's wrong there, I don't know what else I can tell you.

You can always farm WP and AK (none of them core story duties) like some of us do, or make a full premade to speedrun CM and Prae if you just want to do that for those easy 100 tomes (nothing against that, to each his own). But using the DF and then getting angry at people running it for the first time, or expecting them to skip everything, is just socially wrong.

People don't want to help others. They're only in it for their personal gain, and if you hinder them while you're there, you'll be sure to get berated and belittled to the point where you don't want to play anymore.

I think there's a simple solution for people ruining story dungeons by rushing. Unskippable, auto-advancing cutscenes, forcing everyone to watch them and enabling no one to troll people by staying in cutscenes and hindering the party.
Don't want cutscenes? Go do a different dungeon. Problem solved, thank you very much.

People wanting to speedrun should do shouts. Honestly why would anyone wanting a speedrun risk getting into a group in a DF pug anyway

The simple fact is Duty Finder is for everybody. If you want to use it to find a dungeon group, be prepared to run with whomever you get. It's random players, of all experience and skill levels. If it's somebody's first time, then you have to take that into account.

Can't deal with that? Then don't enter DF. You don't get to decide "This is a speed run" ahead of time, and then yell/curse at newbies for slowing down "your" dungeon.

If you join duty finder you shouldn't expect much less. Sorry. Its a random gathering so the outcome and expectations are random.

Simplest solution.

-% Tomes for each cutscene you skip in the 8 man story dungeons. Skip all cutscenes and only get 25% Tomes at the end of the run.

Eliminate any desire to speed run those two and herd the people who can't do math on the fly to figure out which queue is more efficient to the "new" options that will come.

That's how Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate handled it (Though, that game only has a couple cutscenes in multiplayer)- in order to skip a cutscene, everyone in the group has to press the skip button. This way, if everyone is skipping it you can skip it, but you can't continue on without the person watching the scene.

whats the difference between someone who wants to watch the cutscene and someone who's afk? there isn't one, really. You're going to have to wait for them anyway (I'd wait, I don't want to carry people doing nothing)

I agree they should never, EVER talk down or degrade you. However, they have a right to not wait for you and to kill all the enemies / bosses (while you're watching the scene) just as much as you do to watch the scenes.

If you don't like like continuing without you, you can simply find a group of people who want to enjoy all the cutscenes. But to get mad at them for not waiting for you works both ways.

Thats the biggest load of rubbish ive seen on the forums yet.

Speed runs should be pre made only you dont have the right to spoil the storyline for another player because you want to rush it and compleat as fast as you can
