Why can't you just watch a videotape of your first child being born instead of actually being there?
Why can't you just look at what the weather was like today from the news at the end of the day instead of going outside?
Why can't you just watch FFXIV videos on YouTube instead of playing the game?

Why does everyone use the worst analogy possible? You're taking an extreme such as watching your child being born to skipping a videogame cutscene. Your third analogy might be okay, but still to a different level. Again, I'm all for not making people skip cutscenes (as long as they don't get mad at me for clearing the level while they're watching the cut scenes), but to use such analogies is just ignorant.

Feel free to watch the cutscenes, but I'm not waiting for you if I've done the dungeon umpteen times. Blame SE for making a storyline dungeon the best source for ToP.

Actual solution: make your own parties.

Or just go in as a tank/healer and say 'lol no' when asked to skip cutscenes. Worked wonders for me on my first run. Sure, lost a couple people who ragequit and called me names, they were quickly replaced though. And I even started skipping the cs about halfway through xD

Because most of the cutscenes in Praetorium aren't viewable in the inn room, I'm told. And Praetorium has some meaty story in it.

If I get a speedrun group, they're getting lectured. I've played MMOs enough that I can press every button elitists and speedrunners have and get them frothing mad, then stun them in the end with, you know, logic.

It's completely illogical for people to have to look for story groups in shout than it is for people to look for speed-run groups in shout. There is a substantially greater pool of people to draw from who AREN'T running it for the first time than those who are. It makes no sense to tell people who want to watch cut-scenes to shout for a group. No. The burden is upon you to find people who want to skip them. Not the other way around. To disagree is to disagree with logic itself.

I think you are confused on the concept of logic...if I remember correctly the story line says "Complete the dungeon through Duty Finder" so first timers should definitely be using DF...but you can't expect anyone who's run it once to not use the Duty Finder so that the 5% can run their first time the way they want...it's a bad system and the world's not fair, grow up.

You can view all the CSs in that dungeon from your inn room. It's under a different category.

Extreme, sure, but it's done purposefully to get people to understand a point. You just...don't..skip..vital..things.

Regardless, everyone can stop blaming each other because there is only one thing you really can blame. Square Enix. Why would anyone make a story dungeon with 7 million cutscenes one you need to farm 50 times per job? Ridiculous design.

Next week by the way, they will be adding more options to get both of the tomes. Maybe it'll all be good then.

I did watch the cut-scenes but what ended up happening is that I was just watching cut-scenes back to back and didn't get to do the actual boss fights between them which ultimately ruined the entire experience, as I stated in my original post.

I read your original post and that's why I said screw them, but I guess I should have expanded on that.

If you let your gaming experience get ruined by that then sadly to say you are in for a rude awakening. This kind of behavior seems to be commonplace and so the only real solutions in place at this moment is to either quit, or grow tougher skin. SE might change it, and hopefully they do. But I don't see it being on the top of their priority list.

Besides like other people said. You will run CM enough times to be able to piece together everything. Probably not what you want to do either from the tone your initial post sent off. I am however somewhat surprised that you were engrossed by the story up until that point.

Yeah...lectures are always an amazing idea in MMOs, definitely won't rouse any ill will at all. You can't blame others if you purposely antagonize everyone. FYI all cut scenes can be viewed via the Inn, some people just have issues navigating menus.

Everyone thinks that just because they bought the game (at one time or another) that they are ENTITLED to make people do things THEIR way.....

Grow up - try to apply that logic to real life, let me know how that goes. Here is a hint: Majority rules....

If you want something done YOUR way you MAKE it happen aka your own groups. Don't expect everyone to do what you want when your not making it yourself.

I play for the experience, the gameplay, if the game is giving me the choice to watch cutscenes at the comfort of an inn room, alone, with no interruptions, I rather watch them there, than make people wait for me. It's called being a mature adult, not a CM baby.

If we didn't have the choice to see cutscenes later on then by all means watch the cutscenes.
