Is your FC population declining recently?

Our Free Company is seeing a decline in active members online. We had 30-50 active people on Mumble in the first few weeks and now I'm seeing less than 10 active members. I spoke to another guy from a FC the same size as ours and asked him if he saw any decline in his membership and he responded: "HUGE DROP! It's like they don't want to pay the monthly anymore."

Is anyone else seeing a drop like this?

I'm not in a FC, but I get sick of the random invites and ignore them.

That said I was originally in a linkshell in V1, but I quit after a month then. When I started V2, there was 8 people on usually throughout the day. Then as of this week I've noticed there's only ever like 2 people.

I imagine part of the problem is the people who rushed the game, and the other part is that some FC's are nothing but invite-spam and people probably quit the game and didn't say anything.

Our FC is definitely not one of those spam shout ones. We did all our recruitment through online recruitment pages before beta and during beta, then stopped open recruitment once release came August 27th. We've only been recruiting based off reputation alone. We had a solid community the first few weeks and it's just sad to see a lot of good people leave without a word.

Normal with the release of every mmo. Not everyone who buys it right away sticks down. This has been true for every mmo existence except for that one anomaly.

I'd say your problem is 50+ members... lol But that's just me, I wouldn't stick around in a FC that big. =P

Well yeah. More and more people have realized the only end game in this game is capping myth, then running coil if you're fortunate to have a place in a group to do so.

Nope, the FC I'm in has been gaining members at a rapid pace. Seem to get fifteen plus new members a day. Pushing near the cap we can have. That's without spamming and the like. So might just be bad luck on your guys parts. Though I wouldn't be surprised if the massive drop off is people not subscribing after the 30 days.

My FC is gaining members, but fewer people are on at any given time. However, this is completely normal in any game -- the busiest time with the most concurrent connections is always in the first weeks, then people begin to fall into a pattern of play that is more typical of their lives.

This, of course, doesn't count player churn which is also part and parcel for any game. Even the greatest game ever made will lose somewhere between 25 and 50% of its players early on. That's why new players are important. I was running a guy through Toto-rak the day before yesterday who had just bought the game along with his friend. These are the people that will make or break the game and keep our FC's healthy.

Most of the people in our FC that haven't been on lately are busy as their schoolwork is picking up. It has nothing to do with the game.

It's kind of hard to be motivated when one of the jobs your playing (Warrior) is considered not viable and people wont even give you a chance.

Hopefully your FC isn't anti Warrior like a good handful of them.
