* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
Pretty sure... he/she meant aesthetics of how the Avatars were in FFXI. I agree the Summoner Job sucked in XI and it was my main and I LOVED IT SO MUCH! (SE WHY YOU NO GIVE US CAIT SITH...nvm wrong forum...) any who, I think relevant wise SMN is much more relevant here at least. As far as it being aesthetically pleasing, well I said my peace back on Beta Forums.

I think he's in just for the moogles. Omnomnom! Roasted moogles on a stick! YUMMY!
To stay on topic, maybe cooler looking summons? But... they could add it later on and keep these ones as they are. But if they do that, they definately need to boost up BLM animations as well... they are kinda weak looking >< (sorry, had to throw it in.)
If you highlight an enemy right after you summon your egi or fairy and use the obey button, they will only use basic abilities (normal attack on egis or Embrace on Fairies) unless you click on the other abilities. Doing this, Fey Glow will never be cast until you choose to. I keep either glow or light up 100% of the time in dungeons by casting Glow and then casting Light as soon as Glow gets to 1 sec left. I then cast Glow when light gets to 1 sec.
My view on the topic, I love both the ACN classes and I think they did an excellent job with both SMNs and SCHs.
This is not correct. You can't use a pet's ability when you are on cooldown, but using one of their abilities does not put you on cooldown. You can use Embrace and then immediately use Physick for example.

I'd much rather receive a response regarding pet AI issues. Are they being investigated? For SMN's and SCH's, not being able to issue commands to your pet while casting and having pet commands remove your pet from "Steady" status are issues I would like to see addressed.
We've received multiple responses regarding the design of the eggi's and everyone should know by now that it is not going to change. I'm not a fan of the designs either, but I've moved on. I think time would be better spent addressing the pets themselves.
I have not really touched SMN since I got to 50, and only because Scholar is harder to level solo than SMN.
SMN is just a joke both with how egis are and over all mechanics.
i am done with the class, going to lvl blm, not impress
here's to hoping something is done with this job
While I understand the sentiment and agree it would be nicer to have more of a focus on ourr pets, how would you propose that be done?Snip...
None of those things have anything to do with Summoning or Summons. Manually managing your pets does set players apart, you should be manually using all your pet's abilities to get the most out of them (Contagion is the most prominent example), however like I said it's hardly the focus of what we do.
Our pets are not the focus of our supposed pet class.
Keep in mind, you must use Arcanist as a base and you only have 5 skills to convert Arcanist into a fully fledged pet-focused Summoner.
Go!
Why cant summoner limit break be a primal attack. Like the ones used by Ultimate Weapon? Sorry if this has been posted already. Just wanted to add something ^^
The thing is that the pet gameplay starts at level 4 Arcanist . Titan is re skinned Topaz carby, and Garuda is re skinned Emerald carby.
It should have been more pet focused from the beginning.
