I would like to know how you manage that size of a community: do you know your members (or remember them), how do you organize events, do you follow their progression?

Coming from a FC where we closed the applications after 30 active members, that seems just completely unmanageable. Not that I have anything against people playing the way they want to play, just curious about what a community like that offers to its members.

There are some members who participate more actively than others, and are remembered by most members. Others less so, but everyone gets along with very few exceptions. Most events are organized through linkshells for endgame content, or on the forums. Person [x]'s progression isn't really followed, but people like to call out achievements and share in congratulatory japery.

The only management issues are a result of having to be split into multiple FCs. I have a separate account always logged in that I use to relay party invites and dungeon runs across both groups when I can, but it is not optimal. Events aren't always communicated to everyone in both FCs. People in the overflow FC rightfully feel a bit left out. An increase in FC size would be greatly appreciated by all of us

Quoted for truth. We have some people that only really speak up when they need help, and that's totally fine. I like to think people remember me because I like to run my mouth and jump to help people constantly. There are a couple of people that rub me the wrong way and I probably tick a couple people off, but it's no big-- We're adults, yanno?

It really isn't that hard-- We're actually much like a microcosm of our parent community. Just as members of the larger community come together in smaller groups to form guilds for individual games and flow freely among them as interests shift, so too does PBC consolidate into multiple smaller interest groups that members shift to and fro through, using the FC as a means to coordinate.

As for what we offer-- lots of activity with largely helpful, likeminded players. When you have this large a population of actives-- many of whom have been playing since 1.0 launched-- there are a lot of resources at your disposal. There's always someone to talk to, always a group to do things with, always an answer for your question.

Also: bikini beach parties. You haven't lived til you've had 300 guildmates on the beach in Costa.

I don't care what size community they come from..your not out their questing with all 1000 of those people on a regular basis..your adding people to simply be able to say hey look at how big our FC has become.

So what happens next? They up the limit to 1024..and then you post back on here a month from now when you max that out again and you say hey this isn't fair we need 2048 spots for our FC...oh and we need you to reopen the server transfers cause we have been advertising on other servers too and we have another 400 people from random servers that need to join our FC cause were the roXXors!

Uh... no? We do not advertise or take new members as such. We simply had a large amount of interest from within our pre-existing community and haven't the room for our current game membership. We have tried to make this work and it isn't panning out, so we are making our case where the developers can see it, as they should have a vested interest in making large communities welcome in their game. Doubling the limit was not chosen at random-- it fits our situation.

And with all due respect, unless you're in PBC, you really don't have the knowledge to comment on what the FC is like internally or our motivations. The only reason we've made our numbers public is to make our case for what is, to us, an actual problem in the game.
