Market board double dipping

Is it me only thats noticed it or am i seeing it wrong. I understand that you have to pay a fee, or at least someone does, to use the market board, and i understand this. However i have noticed that not only does the buyer pay a tax on top of the listed price, but i have also noticed that the seller is being taxed also. Now is this my imagination or not, i dont mind either paying as a seller or buyer but both is a little much in my opinion.

The buyer is only taxed if you purchase an item from a city that you are not currently in. You'll see a little flag depicting where the retainer is located, and if that doesn't match your current location, then the buyer must pay a "delivery" fee.

It gives you a small notice about the increase is cost when you buy something from another city, granted it's not a very informative message.

You've got a little backwards. The seller is *always* changed 5% of the selling price. The buyer is *also* charged 5% of the selling price when he buys from a retainer in a different city.

thank you for the info yes i may have stated it wrong but i did realize that the buyer gets charged, like i said though i understand the need to be charged i just wasnt aware of the fee for another city thank you for that info

While I appreciate their desire for realism...it really isn't necessary for in game. Really we have more than enough gil sinks as it is. In fact so many that they already had to ease up on a few of them.

Can you move your retainers to another city? If so, it would make sense to move them to Uldah, since that's the city where most people hang out.

As much as I use the Market board, I did not know they incurred a fee when buying from a different city.

To answer your question, yes. If you talk to the retainer person, the one who you got the retainers in the first place (should be near the bell), you can change the city you sell your stuff in.

Yes. Talk to the retainer NPC to change nations.
