Since tanks always have a nearly instant DF wait time, it's clear that the problem is not a matter of a shortage of people but a imbalance of jobs queued.
Adding another server to the mix that includes 50 DD's, 10 healers, and 1 tank will only make matters worse. I also don't think any changes to duty find would help alleviate this (unless they can add an AI tank to the mix).
The plus side is that I have heard rumors of them planning to implement "rewards" for tanks to further encourage players to take up the role in the future. This might help at best though...

"Treat others as they treat you!" ...or something like that.
@nanga
hmm ill try that thank you maybe it will help

They're adding various rewards for things like signing up as a tank, and signing up for a randomly chosen dungeon and such in 2.1. Question is just what those rewards will be. If they'll just give additional exp bonus, nothing will improve really. Getting some (reasonable) gil reward or, dare I say it, tomes, people might be more inclined to sign up. Until then I tend to sign up for 5 randomly selected dungeons and see which one I end up in. Just a shame I can't offer help to people on the forums here who have issues with getting into certain dungeons because we're not on the same server.

Brayflox is one of my favorites along with AK and Hala

Crazy thought that I'm putting out cause I will forget it in the next 2 hours. A Mentor button!
Basically queues you as a tank to any random dungeon (of your level or below) that will include at least one first time member. (Reward included)
Potential pitfalls:
- DD's would only level a tank to 15 and use it for the first dungeon (yay for instant Satasha ques) (maybe increase a reward based on tank level)
- Scatters all current tanks across all dungeons potentially leaving the 50's runs with fewer tanks (fades as other roles level a tank?)
- Harassment/Trolling (MVP system?)
any other reasons why this might fail?
Always remember the Silver Rule:
"Treat others as they treat you!" ...or something like that.

Problem is that there's no need to run a dungeon again unless you're leveling an alt or missed some mobs from the hunting log.
So, some ideas on non-server-changy-things to fix this:
Endgame crafting drops throughout all the dungeons, myth, phil drops and so on
Mentor exp boosts to tanks/healers that redo low level dungeons
Achievements to give Unique vanity/crafting equipment for running dungeons a set number of times, 10, 20, 50, 100 times etc
Acheivements added involving beating dungeons under certain time limits, no deaths, all mobs killed etc
General all round exp boost on a par with FATE leveling to give people a reason to go back and help others
Add more functionality into dungeon finder to group better, options to party with fellow newbies, endgamers only, mentor required
Summat like that maybe

I am a tank, so yes, I get the good part of duty finder regularly and cannot give experience to duty finder wait times. However, my question is why are people not leveling a tank class already? I finished the main story last night with my 50 Warrior. I love the class. I can do good solo damage when playing alone, I do good damage for a tank class in parties, I can survive a lot of things others can't, I have health recovery for solo and party play. I know a lot of people might not want to main a tank, but why not level one as a second job and enjoy the benefits while they are around. You never know when an update, patch or expansion will flip the tables. I know this doesn't address the problems you are having with other jobs, but while you are waiting for an improvement, level a tank for fun.

SE is already planning on rolling this sort of feature out. You will be able to roll a random dungeon once a day for a reward. You will be able to roll randomly as many times as you want, but only once a day for a reward. (To prevent abusing the system I presume)
And they are implementing an MVP system as well, which similarly will result in rewards: every random dungeon you get a chance to vote on the other players, the more MVP points you get, the more bonus rewards you can get.
So while it may or may not work, SE appears to agree with your idea and some variation on it is coming.
I love re-running dungeons. Especially in the DF. You never know what you are going to get, and sometimes carrying an entire group of new players who don't know what they are doing is amazingly fun. And sometimes getting in there and figuring out how to re-run it as fast as possible with an experienced group is also fun. Plus, if you get a social group that can be its own kinda of enjoyable experience.
Personally I don't entirely understand the mentality of only ever running a dungeon once, or for gear drops. I don't care about gear drops, and 90% of the time I pass on everything. I would much rather re-run all the low level dungeons for fun instead of the whole only run one or two dungeons repeatedly for gear grind people are currently on.
Warriors are awesome. I would love if more people rolled them. But that said, tanks also get a lot of grief, and not everyone has the mentality to cope with that, and knowing it probably scares a lot of people away from it, while some people think that the job is ridiculously boring especially early on, and so never are even willing to try.

I think something like this might work better, I edited the duty finder window a bit to show how it would work.
Basically:
- When you open the duty finder and select the dungeons you want to join, the Tendency option would update showing what percentage of each role is being used in those dungeons.
- Now, before quein, if you choose the role that has the lowest percentage it will let you know that since you're joining with this role you will get rewarded.
- This will only happen if the percentage is 20% or more difference between roles, else it could be abused. It would just work as an incentive to get people playing with other roles.
Let's face it, without rewards it would not work. So for lower level dungeons you could get rewarded with a nice chunk of Gil and EXP. On higher level dungeons if it's the case 20% more seals to that character only (not the whole raid).
Hope it gets a look from mods![]()
