Job Petition: Soldier

Because all Disciples of War are technically "warriors", and the name "Fighter" is just too generic a thing to call a Job that's supposed to be a specialization, I'd like to see the Soldier job return as the non-mystical, non-rogueish, purely physical-skills based Job that takes the place of Warrior/Fighter in FFXIV. Considering the coming conflict in Eorzea, there would be a need for them.

No those are Weapon Classes.

Arcanist is an unknown.

Fencer uses fencing swords (Right now Gladiator only uses short swords and daggers)

Musketeer uses guns.

Weapon Class =/= job

You're wrong. What was listed in the dats are "classes." If you read the letter, they are bringing back the TRADEMARK job system. This means Black Mage, Red Mage, White Mage, etc etc etc.

I see Soldier being more of a Job that can use the physical skills learned from many classes. In addition they would have the infamous "Break" set of skills from previous Final Fantasy games.

• Break Headgear (reduces targets headgear to 0 durability)
• Break Arm (prevents target from using weaponskills)
• Break Jaw (prevents target from casting spells)
• Break Leg (prevents target from moving)

Just to name a few.
