I can see where people are having problems with Monk DPS because they don't push the limit or understand how to move around a target as a melee DPS. I had another Monk DPS who had an issue with Titan because he'd play it safe. He couldn't get the timing down on keeping his Greased Lightning stacks up. So his DPS fell behind. All I can say is that Monk DPS is highly dependent on your skill as a player and your understanding of the mechanics of a fight. Before blaming the class, look to yourself first. Can you honestly say you play to the best of your abilities? Let's say the Monk class gets a slight DPS buff. Your average player DPS will increase, but those of us that push the Monk class to the limit will get a HUGE boost over everyone else. I will tell you right now, if Monk gets a DPS buff, no one in my Free Company will ever match me on DPS. Ever. Is that fair?

Perhaps it's time some of you look to other classes/jobs because Monk is not for you.

my opinion begin to be well know, but i will say it one more time. the monk, as it is, is a thief... the only difference that we don't steal stuff or use dagger. the monk is a sneaky class attacking him target from the side and from behind. one of him best capacity is a DoT (demolish). that said, i'm concerned about all of this, because we will get a thief later... what will be the difference between the two class? the fact that the thief steal stat? or do have triple strike?

that was for the design of the class, for the game play the two thing that need an change, is the GL and the fact we need to be behind or on the side for get the best of our damage:
    - GL increase of 21% our damage and 15% our attack speed, the attack speed by itself is enough for be make us wanting to get and maintain GL the damage boost was not needed. it's... the worst idea ever.
    - position, i can fairly imagine people say: will be faceroll, melee need to get position... i will answer this, we have the combo system why not work more on this and make it more interesting? we don't need the position, we need a true flexible combo system, a more deep one with more different option.

do it will happend? i dunno
do it will increase the dps of the monk? not really, if you balance the damage of the skill it will normally not even affect it.

one more time, my most important concern is the fact that we are playing a thief without dagger and steal capacity... not a monk, a martial artist... ask a martial artist if he will not fight him target head on? if he will not look in the eyes of him enemy?

ps: to the one that will say, go change class or l2p, i know how play my monk, simply it's soo annoying and boring at play actually. the rotation is a repetition with little modification and punishing for nothing.

I disagree completely. We are nothing like Thieves. Positional requirements are not "sneaky" they are the core of any eastern martial arts (and most western). The ONLY reason there are no frontal type attacks is because of mmo design and because monk is a JOB so it's made to be in a party (which has a tank).
Positioning your attacks is just how technical fighting works. In fact, we're on the side of the enemy most of the time, anyway. A thief would be in the back.

If you got rid of the positions, guess what? You'll still be in back or side of the enemy. The only thing the requirements change is solo-ing (which never really bothered me anyway). But it makes more sense for the monk to have abilities that take position into account than it doesn't.

Rather than some combo system from a fighting game, we have a 3 dimensional combat design. I find it refreshing and seeing a monk dance around the enemy in a swirl of attacks (knowing that was the class design as well, not just a jumpy player) is what made me play the class in the first place.
It is also very monk like.
