i disagree. doing a off the GCD ability on my monk is much more annoying than my dragoon, as the time between the animation finishing/being interruptable and the GCD is much shorter.

I've actually gave up on my monk , in fights where movement is minimal I found it was more fun to play but when you have to constantly run in and out of battle ( 99% of fights in this game ) and I have to start restacking buffs I start wishing I had played something else, on top of the fact that trying to level through fates became a chore, Shoulder tackle's CD is too long and no ranged attack to tag mobs was really painful at times, The only reason I put in the effort of getting to 50 on it was because it was the highest level and I wanted the buff to go back and level BLM / Bard and Warrior and after experiencing a few boss fights on my bard I can safely say i've been spoiled and could never return to the monk again, I love the concept of monk and the animations but I feel like I spend more time building up to start doing dps only to have to run away from an AOE then come back and start over.
Things that Monk needs imo
- Ranged attack that refreshes GL Stacks ( also could be used for pulling when soloing )
- Lower CD on Shoulder Tackle
- Remove all positional Requirements
- Increase Base duration or Greased Lightning
- Lower CD on Howling Fist ( 20-sec cd would be perfect )

It's funny coz I've partied a good number of monks doing over 200 dps and dragoons getting up to 220

To tell other DPS that monk is on the top from DPS point view. I mean you are one of the MNK here said monk no need help. Show them how much DPS you can do on the dummy in 5 mins. Shame is no much monk dare to share their number from a DPS testing. Dummy test not even test the aoe and you can maintain gl easily. if MNK number can't 30% higher, I would say DPS boost on MNK is needed.

@allyrion: i will say why not, if the thief class was not in the way to come in the game. what will be the difference between the two class? the weapon used, the fact that thief can steal? this will be the same fast paced fighting class using side and behind attack.
that the whole point, they need to make each class feel different!
we are not asking for a combo system coming from the street fighter game, but that they deepen the one they have create for the monk.
other point you say, that you want to turn around the target and all, but that mostly a thing from solo game and is not possible to do it, since we have no frontal skill!

All i say is monk doesn't need a boost, just make GL duration go from 12 secs to 15-18secs and most of the subtle distractions from fights won't interrupt your flow. I get that the primals interrupt your GL with their grand attacks but thats not the worst of it, i mean with 410 skill speed in GL 1 i have 1-2 secs to refresh the ability and in GL 3 i have 4-5 secs but the mobs moves, uses an area attack or uses something that distracts you for more than that and you lose it.
Other than that I haven't seen any use of fists of wind. And one inch punch is a great ability but there is almost no mob to use it on.
Edit: Oh yeah Chi Blast for ranged attack would be great![]()

if you can't maintain gl3 in 12 sec , I doubt there was any magic Chang if they increase gl to 15 sec.
You should know monk dummy test isn't that great compare with other job. I would rather they reduce gl buff maintain time to 8 sec but increase monk crit Dmg by another 30%. Monk should be the class with fastest attack in potential and big crit Dmg if lucky.

I wasn't saying anything about a dummy test, it's the timer i see when i'm fighting Garuda HM so often in that fight by 1-2 secs late of hitting her i lose GL 3
