In brighter news, I Actually managed to speak to a GM! In game.

He asked how I made so much gil, so I told him.

He asked how much I had lost.

He said after the convo this would be investigated, but could take some time.

I asked if I was telling the truth, will my gil be returned, he assured me it would if I'm legit.

Sounds promising, waiting game now I guess.
How long did it take before you were able to speak with a GM in game?
