Toxic endgame community...

Talking about it filtering down into lower level dungeons as well. I was lvl 47 but needed Sunken Temple of Qarn for my GC hunting log. Before the 1st boss I wrote one line to make sure we were on the same page strategy wise and the other Dps wrote back Yes we know this dungeon thanks lol. I said well just making sure because no-one is communicating here. He went on to die within the 1st few seconds of the 1st boss. The other two players didn't speak a word the entire time and on the 1st boss alone we wiped around 7 times. I could have called him all the names under the sun for being so arrogant in chat and then so useless as a player, we were both Bards and I had no problems at all but I'm not a Dick like that. I just think it's so much the norm for these players environment they can't function without sarcasm or a bad attitude.

Just to point out, over 50% of the time the silent ones are PS3 players who don't have a keyboard. I can always tell on my PS3 because it shows the ID under examine (it doesn't show when I am on PC). Doesn't mean they are anti-social, or trying to be sarcastic. It is just really hard to type on a PS3 without a keyboard. And even with one you are going to be slower to respond because you have to put down the controller or try and type with one hand.

Also as far as Qarn is concerned I asked about this other day, but it seems a lot of groups can't do it, despite having tried many times. So just because someone says "yeah we have done this" doesn't mean they have beaten it.

Last 4 runs I have done in Qarn we have won once. And in each case there was at least one person who chimed in at some point "I am new from here on out." It just is really hard for a lot of DF groups to really mesh on that dungeon. My first attempt we wiped non-stop on the first boss. Breezed through the second boss.. Reached the last boss. And ran out of time.

So just putting that out there. It is easy to be misunderstood in text only, especially when you can't easily type as is. And Qarn in particular seems to be a huge DPS skill check. "Knowing" the dungeon" doesn't mean "I can beat this dungeon every time".

Not everyone coming into this game realized that they would need a keyboard to communicate properly. Just "oh hey a final fantasy game!" or maybe those who just assumed it would include audio etc etc.

If you came into this already having heard it needed a keyboard, that is one thing, but I can hardly fault these players who don't know better. Not everyone coming into this game, especially from the PS3 side, has PC MMO experience. And honestly a decent player can easily get as far as Hauke without chat in Duty Finder. And if you level fast you can easily get to the non-story dungeons Qarn and Cutter's Cry before you actually hit most of the story line dungeons. So it is easy to point fingers, but how would they know before that point?

If you come across one you should certainly suggest that they find a cheap usb or wireless keyboard, but that is about it really.
