I prefer if people would skip cutscenes, but I don't say anything if they don't either. I just quietly mind my own damn business because there are two very different sides to dungeons: speed runs vs. story mode, and neither side is the "only" way to be, nor is one side "more correct" than the other. If you're using DF, you could easily run into both groups of people in the same party, and quite frankly any player worth being in a group with is going to understand.
There is one exception, however: If we're running short on time, I do expect you to get your rear out of the cutscene. I've had this issue before, and there is absolutely no excuse for twiddling your thumbs in a bloody cutscene if time is running out. Suck it up and watch it later for the sake of actually completing the run. This is for your own benefit as well as everyone else's.
No leeching, No PL'ing, just 100% playing the game.
This is just one example of how End Game is and is why I am considering leaving Hyperion when transfers are enabled but is there a server to go to where Elitist crap is at a minimum ? Preferably EU but any will do. I know this happens in every game but on Hyperion it's the norm not the exception.Read a strategy for Castrum Meridianum (I figure I would try to minimize my burden on the party). The dungeon starts and right away I'm being belittled for watching the cutscene. Its go go go go, rush rush rush rush, while being called every name in the book.
A few people even dropped from the dungeon because I was watching a 30 second cutscene.... Keep in mind this was a duty finder group.
The fights I did manage to not get locked out of I was able to survive the fight no problem.
I've played many MMOs, but this is by far the most toxic endgame community
Honestly? I know this will get bites, but a legacy server is probably your safest bet. A fair proportion of players will be from v1 where, to be perfectly frank, we didn't have this crap. This is just one example of how End Game is and is why I am considering leaving Hyperion when transfers are enabled but is there a server to go to where Elitist crap is at a minimum ? I don't think it's necessarily a community issue, more of a search function issue in regards to skipping cut scenes in DF dungeons. It's already been stated several times that adding a "Story Mode" to the DF search which would help resolve a lot of these problems.
Could you imagine the queue times for this? No one would ever run the story mode past the first time. It really is a community issue. If 7/8 ppl want to rush the dungeon, go for it. But don't be disrespectful to that 1 person who is watching the story cut-scenes for the first time.
If you queue in the duty finder you should expect everything, including those that want to watch the cut-scene. Want to speed run the dungeon 10,000 times? Get a pre-made together

Sorry, but you could say the same thing about people finding their own pre-made to run a "Story Mode" of a dungeon. The DF isn't just for people who run dungeons for the first time...
The DF is the default way that people find group members at any stage in their character's existence — whether they're super l33t tanks who have off work that day and no one in their FC is on, or they're brand new DDs who just hit 50 and don't even have an FC. That's why it's unfair to expect a random newbie to skip cutscenes and ruin their own story experience just because you (not you specifically, but you in a general sense) don't want to take an extra 8 minutes.
But they can watch the cutscenes in their room. And do you honestly believe one person inconveniencing seven people is FAIR?The DF is the default way that people find group members at any stage in their character's existence — whether they're super l33t tanks who have off work that day and no one in their FC is on, or they're brand new DDs who just hit 50 and don't even have an FC. If I notice someone new watching CSs in CM, I politely ask them to skip them and watch them in their inn room later. If they ignore me or say no, I give them fair warning that we're going to continue without them. As you say, the DF is for everyone, not just for those doing it the first time. It's not fair to the other 7 people if they have to wait.
I don't honestly mind if they watch the cutscenes... that's their right. But then they'll have to put up with the consequence of potentially being locked out of a boss. There's nothing toxic about my behavior at all. I'm always very polite about it, and most people I've run with have been as well.
my praetorium run was ruined by people who just want to rush it, i wanted to watch the cutscenes, i wanted to know why im doing this at that particular moment, not watch it later ~_~ kinda takes the enjoyment and immersion out of the game
IT definitely takes the immersion out of the dungeon, nothing pulls you back to reality than to watch lahabrea in a cutscene and you can hear him getting whooped on in the background....same with giaus haha
