I made my gil almost the same way you listed, (mining and GS to start, sold electrums then level 49 acc then moved on)
One thing you mentioned though is the transfer of items. If you traded millions of gil in mats to and from accounts that weren't yours, that could set off red flags. This doesn't explain the folks that had low gil and were banned, but it might be a starting point.
The total value of items traded to my alt must have been 3.5mil roughly, as I had sold pretty much everything and that is the gil I had on my alt.

Mostly it was traded to my wife's char, then to my alt. But on times did have friends do this for me, unfortunately due to not being able to mail alt's / no shared back, it was the only way.

Until I hit 50 GSM I was nearly broke most the time lol.

Well that's nothing definitive, but it's enough to make me not move a lot of items to and from characters not on my main account until I have a good reason to believe this isn't how they picked people.

I want an actual Human GM to investigate my account properly and return my gil.

I still have the gil that was on my retainers and on my alt (4.5mil), but this was wrong and I want my gil returned.

I agree that many crafters got too much gil due to the inflation caused by cheaters and gil buyers/seller and I even agree that taking money from them would be for the better of the game's economy. However, dividing their gil by 100 without any proof that they got it through cheating or illegitimate means is overboard. Even if they got more gil than they should have due to the inflation, they still got those gils honestly.

Of course, its entirely possible that all these whiners are in fact cheaters and gil buyers/sellers. Until SE gives a clear answer as to how they targeted people, we don't even know the real reasons why certain people were affected while others were not.

    And what did I do?

Played the game fairly and made the most of a high demand - low supply market while it was good? Yeah I thought so to.

It that were the case, as a player I would be moaning at SE to perma-ban them.

It's very simple really, we should either be perma banned or have our Gil returned and 7 days credit added to our accounts with an email saying sorry.

@SE Please send a GM to investigate my Account! If I'm lying Ban me, if not give my/our gil back!

    Cross-posted for visibility:

Here's the thing for me: Before the blanket suspension I had 10.6 million, after I had 106k. Not only that, but I was paying for game days the whole time while suspended. So I'm either guilty, or I'm not. There's too many unknowns still. The multiple (3-4) times I talked to Customer Phone Support they SPECIFICALLY said I would receive an email report detailing EXACTLY what was covered in the investigation. This didn't happen. I received the same regurgitated email the everyone else did; stating that I was, in fact, guilty.

I had 20 days of playtime before the suspension, and 13 after. Right now I'm sitting at 11 days left.

I will not be renewing my subscription, nor will my girlfriend, and a number of my friends have banded together to not renew or pay until the following things are DIRECTLY addressed by a Square-Enix representative:

    1) If we were all found guilty, why are we still allowed to play? As I understand it, any RMT activity is considered "zero tolerance" and results in termination. This simply seems like Square-Enix wanted to solve a problem for themselves, but wanted us all the be nice paying customers.
    2) If we are innocent (which I truly believe most posters truly are), why did we ALL have our gil divided by 100? It is highly unlikely, nay completely impossible, that EVERYONE had exactly 99% of their gil obtained via RMT and/or illicit means.
    3) Whose complete utter lack of decision-making was responsible for #2)'s policy? Even if "illicity obtained gil" had to be removed from the economy, why were specific people targeted? Why wasn't every single person in the game punished?
    4) Why didn't we receive any information and/or a report on our "illicit activities" that led to losing 99% of our gil? (I truly believe these reports didn't exist because NO THOROUGH INVESTIGATION was truly ever made.)
    5) Since it's very obvious that Square-Enix screwed this entire situation up royally, what kind of concessions will be made to the people affected? Will we get our 7 days (which was originally supposed to be 72 hours) back? Will we get any portion of our gil back?

This is one of the worst examples of customer service I've ever seen, even from a Japanese company. You guys need to communicate with your customers, even if that means admitting you're wrong. If you refuse to admit that you made a giant mistake, at least GIVE US SPECIFIC INFORMATION ABOUT OUR INVESTIGATIONS. I know a few hundred people who would really like to see this information.

I don't normally ask this question of anyone but I feel inclined to ask it now. You seemed to have worked long and hard for that gil. ....why? Does anything in FFXIV even cost anything close to 12.6 mil? I get that you took advantage of a high demand low supply market and I commend you for your business smarts but you seem to have more money then you'll need for a long time. Why not live off of it for a bit? Why make the money pile huge enough to sink a battleship? If I had that much in real life dollars I would chillax for a while and then tap into those business smarts when I need to. Not a sermon, just a thought.

Simple - my target was 15mil, then I'd start leveling my main, I hit that target the day I got wrongly suspended.

Reason being both myself and my wife play, she does not like dg's but always wants good gears. She plays WHM and Bard, once she hit's 50 I'll be providing her with ilvl 70 crafter gears... These will not be cheap.

I also wanted ilvl 70 gears for my main (BLM) and to save for future additions.

These is also the fact I just like making in came currency in game and at the start was the best time to do this, while most were only thinking to level their main class.

All I can really do is post the following that has already been linked. There are some pretty obvious parts of that text that should clear it up.

    "- Date: Sep. 12 – Sep. 30, 2013
    - Accounts receiving disciplinary action for RMT site advertisements: 6,154 accounts
    - Accounts receiving disciplinary action for illicit activity: 156 accounts
    - Action Details: Termination from FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn

    - Date: Sep. 28, 2013
    - Accounts receiving disciplinary action for RMT/illicit activities: 568 accounts
    - Action Details: Termination/Temporary suspension from FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn
    * Accounts of egregious violators will be terminated.

    - Total Frozen Gil: Approximately 367,700 million Gil
    * Gil of temporarily suspended accounts will be confiscated."

You are most likely in the 568 crowd due to them finding some link in the gil that leads to either RMT or illicit activities. Sure SE can make mistakes and have done so in regards to what was posted regarding someone and his brother on reddit. So to fix the issue and let you play, they did the gil reduction they did across all old accounts pre-release i.e reduce gil to 1/10 of it's former amounts.

And regarding the people with little gil that got banned. Well maybe they bought gil and didnt admit it, then bought stuff but got noticed while other gil buyers werent. I'm still trying to figure out why you ground so much gil on crafting in the first place, most likely cos it sold for silly amounts of gil and you wanted more, more and more.
