Something about the incoming PvP that really disturbs me. The names. Fresh meat.

Horrible decision on the names. Rivalries always made me enjoy pvp more (even if I was on the losing side). This just make it boring. Making a name for yourself is fun. Seriously, if your ego can't handle losing in pvp, maybe you should stick to pve.

I can't think of a game that has had worse PvP than what this will be.

Assume the same of the other team. All of a sudden you have your mid tier and end tier players focusing on each other right out of the gate instead of playing by strategy.

Keeping it this way means you're playing based on the other teams actions instead of who they are and where you've heard of them.

Except either side going after players who they know are a bigger threat is still strategy.

It needs to change. In a premade you can call out your focus target easier if names are shown. In pugs you can use <t> in a macro to let people know what to attack. If everyone is "Fresh Meat" well <t> goes out the window and then things have to be marked.

I can honestly say I don't agree with this decision. Just because some people can't blacklist or keep it to tells doesn't mean SE has to act like the US government and turn this game into a police state.

Why do I have to tip toe around to make sure I don't "hurt feelings". Still doesn't matter, it's like saying hey everyone in PvE we are going to name you all "Player" that way when/if you suck, your name will not be displayed, therefore you can't be harassed. Are you Kidding me? The main reason I even tried this game out, was cause I was hoping for some good PvP. Not going to be telling my friends "Hey we are killing the Fresh Meat on the left first" or "hey focus on the X marked fresh meat". If you rape in PvP your name should be known, just as much as if you own it up in PvE, your name or guild name/FC name/LS name/ whatever the hell they want to call it will be known.

You can't really talk like this to children in a game, its not appropriete language. Yes, you can hurt a kids feelings and he could do rash things all because you made him feel low and brought him down. If your a grown up, act like one and be the bigger person, and not act like a complete imbecile.

I have an idea that might give us a middle-ground (apologies if this has already been posted, by the way). Why not just display our title rather than "Fresh Meat"? I mean, my main has the title of 'Cavalier' on, but no one can see that unless they examine my character. Why not make out titles be the name displayed during PvP? It'd add at least some semblance of personalization outside of using our characters real names, while also going along with SE's idea of anonymity.

Same system as in DAoC.

If i'm a hardcore PvPer and I pick up 14, as i'm sure any pvp focused game does, other people seeing your name is pretty important for several reasons. Do you really want everyone to see you as "Fresh Meat"? Hell no. And even without that aspect, as far as strategizing goes, what if you're against 2 monks with similar gear, how will you tell your team which one to attack? "HEY GET THE MONK" "WHICH ONE?" "UHH". See the problem here? Names are IMPORTANT.

I see a couple of problems here with being known as "Fresh Meat", but i'd like to gather your opinions on this. Are you for or against?
