A tough Conjuerer Misiosn..with two main foes

I reached a fairly high level with my conjuerer but hit a tough mission where you have to defend the tree in Gridania, there are TWO main enemies and one throws flame, and i get killed evnetually just does not seem to be any way to get any dammage on either one of them to a significant degree. ....any one have any suggestions on how to do this? i was hoping for some way to put one of them to sleep but dont see that available yet, thanks for any ideas. i will keep trying too.

If this is the masked man + the demon battle, get away from the masked man and ignore him till the demon is killed.

Cleric stance and just nuke the demon down, you can use Fluid Aura if you have it to give yourself some breathing room to heal. Make sure to toggle Cleric stance off whenever you want to heal and put it back on when your HP is fine and you need to nuke.

You got a bunch of Antidotes from the previous mission so put them on your hotbar and use them when the demon poisons you.

What he said. Also, make sure your gear is up to date. Try to get all level 15 or higher pieces for your main body slots Will cut down on the damage you take.

Thank you both so much that is just what i needed, yes that is the mission this is. They were taking me down without even trying even after over an hour of fighitng it seemed. may not have been that long but i managed to stay alive. I forgot about the Cleric stance, that will help too and thanks so much for that tip about the antidotes I tried some new things recently and it seems even a small right move can make a big differnce and if i am gong to be helping in a group as the healer i need to know what to do. thanks again!!!

And yes i have Fluid Aura just learning to use it and it is great really helps ..i had to remember it stuns the target and to NOT attack them right away again

A general tip for class missions. If it's got a ?? where the level number should be, ignore it unless it's the only mob there. The NPCs will handle it while you take care of everything else.

Another thing to remember about that story quest is you're not actually expected to win the battle on your own - all you have to do is drag the gargoyle's HP to about a quarter left, and then a certain npc or npcs will run in and quickly finish off the gargoyle for you - the masked mage won't last long after that.

But yes, fighting it as CNJ is pretty challenging, but not impossible - basically, keep Protect up, and then alternate between Aero, Stone, Cure, Aero, Stone, Cure etc. Having an ether on your hotbar would also greatly help. When the boss uses it's poison attack, remove it also with Esuna or an antidote placed on your hotbar as this will gradually wear your HP down dangerously, making it's removal imperative.

Really though, it's not so much a hard battle as more one that teaches you how every boss fight has a simple strategy to it, that once realized, makes the battle simple. Good luck!

Thank you you are a dear that is a big relief. I am not used to some of this and i thought i had to defeat both of them all the way and it seemed hopeless. i was running aorund to try to get some chance to heal..and they both kept chasing me and it seemed like an endless nightmare. I had hoped for some help from the others but when they did not come...i just decided to do what I could and that they had given us a hard battle to try to each us these battles were not always easy thank you again.

I was just given Esuna and it looks nice, but i had not had a chance to try it yet..so thank you again
