That would be ideal, sadly it will not work. Someone will buy 99 pieces for 50,000 gil and some will go to a RMT and buy the gil for the fleece.

What they need are more GMs to patrol the area. Four days after a report with the same bots is not good.

When I was a GM for EQ2, we were invisible near the heavy botted areas. Once we saw a bot we took the necessary steps to ensure they were a bot (in FFXIV..its a no brainer with their teleport macro). Once the bot was validated, we would transport them to our EQ2 Island Dungeon were they could not leave. Then we would do the paperwork to ban BOTH their account AND their credit card.

You can tell that FFXIV suffers from a GM to Server population ratio. FFXIV is sorely in need of GMs rather badly. They don't understand the amount of time can be cut in half if a GM was present.

I would even suggest that they entertain the idea of volunteer GMs (as they have in EQ2 and EVE and some others). This way they will have more manpower to observe these things.

For Deremite web we found a Leve that distributes Webs as a reward for completion. Is there not one of these for fleece?

Not all the leves offer Fleece and it's not all the time either. Often they are the leves that require me using my velveteen cloth, and as we all know Diremite Web is basically in the same boat as Fleece.

It's just such a ridiculous bottleneck, I'd like to meet the person who decided to make it this way and have a few words with them.

the diremite for leves in Quarrymille was a saving grace for me.

Sadly, there are no crafting leves for Fleece. There is a combat leve that involves a few sheep but the current drop rate you may do it and get 6 fleece or none....and then you would have wasted a 70,000 exp crafting leve.

The best way to craft to 50 without spending 100 to 200K on fleece is stick to the crafting leves in Coer that doesn't require wool.

I do. Not always the teleporting ones, but plenty of the ones that sit in one spot and target those in range. I've been working on botany, and in the range i was, i was going back and forth to the different fleece areas, and they were pretty obvious.

I don't mind fleece and diremite being rarer, if there wasn't almost a need to get them for leveling. Make them only for harder recipies, and put a botany resource in the place for leveling.

it's crazy how hackers/botters won the market in this game.

I wish they would of made a "Shepard" DOL class designed in gathering skins off dead corpse. Where the amount of nodes available within a certain time period would be based on specific mobs being killed. While yes it would end up relying on more teamwork compared to other DoL there honestly is nothing wrong with that. It's definitely better than what we have now where the options for obtaining said items for leathercraft and such has turned Leather craft into XIV's version of what goldsmith was like in XI.

Just add a DoL that generates these. I've been meaning to post a design for it (Shepherd DoL, basically play monster rancher), and I'll do so tonight or tomorrow. It's a gap which is just too obvious.

I was bored and wrote down a quick idea of how they could make a DoL based on Shepard that I think would be fun to play lol.

    Shepard:
    Main tool:Skinning Knife

    Sub tool:Aetherial Glove

Skinning Knife gathers skins/furs parts available off a dead corpse

Aetherial gloves uses life force to extract products of a creature like milk, secretion or even fresh eyes

    Skills:
Animal Scent:Allows player to detect footprints

Detect:Allows user to continue path of footprint if going in right direction 50 GP

Observe: Searches for Corpse in circular radius around user 100 GP

Gather Rate effects the amount of footprints needed to find the corpse

Perception increases the radius of observe when used

Basiscally finding a node comes in steps.

Step 1 you find a footprint. Upon finding it you are under the effect of that footprint and follow the direction you are told to go in, depending on lv you will be given an idea of the distance between you and the next footprint

Step 2-? Use Detect to find additional footprints for the footprint you are currently locked on. You repeat this process until you are given a message like "The corpse is close by" upon seeing the last footprint

Step 3 Use observe to search around you to find the corpse and upon finding you have two options.
--Shepard would have two stances, Skinning stance, and Aetherial Stance. Said stance would determine which tool you use when gathering off the target corpse.--

Step 4 you go into either stance and gather off the target. Once done the corpse disappears and a new footprint(s) will be in the zone in which you can identity.

--Footprints would have unique artwork to them so the user would be able to tell which animal they are seeking as long as they have proper skill in identifying the animal they are seeking out--

--So if you find a footprint but it's not the animal you want you can skip it and find a new footprint til you find the one you want to seek out.
