One thing I didn't like about owning my own Chocobo in FFXI was the fact that the whistle had limited charges. If I raise my Chocobo, I feel I should have the ability to call it without that charge restriction.

As far as color goes, I think it would be cool to have a quasi two-toned color, where most of the bird is the dominant color, but the recessive color can still be seen at the tips of the wing/tail/head feathers. Not so much that it looks completely dumb, but enough to look neat. Maybe the recessive color is only yellow, and maybe it doesn't always show up, but it would be a neat feature to add another level of uniqueness to a personal Chocobo.

As has been mentioned elsewhere, I am in favor of allowing us to add saddlebags to our personal birds to act as an extra inventory space in the field.
