There will always be others levelling alt classes, I think we are being spoiled because right now fates are being zerged and completed within minutes and sometimes under a minute.

One in a rare while I might duo an NM fate with another person. We usually both pull out our chocobos and go for it. The Two-Tails NM in South Shroud is a good example of a FATE that's not usually done.
Fights are lengthy but can be fun. Sometimes I try and solo them with SMN/Titan tank, which is actually pretty easy, just takes a long while.
One of my most fond memories from beta was soloing the Attack on Redbelly Fortress FATE on my Lancer. The one that comes in two parts and has the tortoise Shredder at the end. It was a ridiculous fight dealing with adds and trying to complete it in time, but I did it!! I'm wondering if I'll ever have a second chance at that.

Agreed, I know that people say FATE's require no skill or attention, but that is due to above reasons, I have done FATEs in dead zones with 1-2 of my friends, they are hard indeed and require skill.
Lets face it, whenever an MMO is out or xpac is released, the leveling process is always a mess until the initial leveling rush dies down, at-least, unlike WoW, we don't have to fight each other on quest credit.

IMO fates are actually really satisfying and fun to level on if you're in an otherwise empty zone with a party of ~4-6 people. Maybe even 8 if you're the only party in zone.Agreed, I know that people say FATE's require no skill or attention, but that is due to above reasons, I have done FATEs in dead zones with 1-2 of my friends, they are hard indeed and require skill.

They just become a mindless zergfest once you have like 3 parties of 8 running from Fate to Fate and blowing them up in 3 seconds.
