HQ crafting leves are a good source of Gil. That appears to be the primary gil fountain. I haven't run them myself but I've been told high level gathering leves ate decent Gil too.

This topic again? seriously?
Completely agree. And I hate to say it, but the developers already have acknowledged there is a problem with it. They are just checking on how best to rectify the issue without overflooding the market with fresh gil.
So PLEASE, enough with the "omg there is no problem" from level 20 characters. You know nothing.

On a side note, I checked the Lodestone and you are in fact lvl 50 GLD but for some reason your profile on the forums is showing me you're lvl 26 GLD. Lol.
Why are people having problems with gil? You simply take the item that everyone(most people) need, make sure it is consumable and level craft/gatherer to farm. Oh yes, you must farm in this game, it takes a few hours a week. I know people seem to hate to farm but really its like going to work in the real world, and atm's dont just spit money at you. Last weekend, 3 hours of farming (need 27 botany) only sold crystals, kept all shards for my FC. Crystals only come out of 2 of 4 nodes in a area, did not use any gather up abilities. I made 300k in 3 hours. Key tips: consumable, needed by many, easy to get, dual purpose items = decent cash income. And if you are thinking about undercutters, dont worry, put up manageable stacks of 100 or less, and never undercut the lowest person by more than 2 gil, leave over night, take money out of retainer in morning. Easy.
I still dont understand how telling people to craft themselves is helping you. If they craft for themselves, then you can sell them crafts...so you are just gimping yourself out of their gil.
Obtaining it from other players is the best way. why are you resistant to this idea?
FATEs produce a lot of gil but it's spread around many people- it's not given to one or two people. Guildleves give more but you can't do them 24 7. There is no single activity that gives what i'd call a 'large" amount of gil in one shot. it only trickles in over time.
If you have trouble making gil in this game, you're either lazy or bad at math.

I make 5k+ per leve from pure gil generation.
There is no problem with gil generation or the overall economy. This thread was obviously about how to make personal gil and it was hijacked by idiots who don't know economics. Advice on how to make personal gil has already been addressed. If you don't like it, find another game. But don't spread lies about how your personal problems are related to some nonsensical defect in the overall economy. They aren't. You're just lazy.
1) It is easy to see whether the economy is doom or not. Look at crystal shards prices. It is used in a lot of places. If it doesn't go down in a straight line. Gils coming in is approximately equal to the gil going out of the system. It might not coming thru certain players but it is coming in thru someone.
2) In FF14, it appears craft leve is the main exchange of in game stuff to extra gili injected into the system. The leve might be as high as 5k per turn, but you will need the mats which has a going market prices. Mats are all made by players.
