@Spythe: yeah it seems monk can do well in Coil 4, but before this you have ifrit, garuda, titan, AK,... where it's almost forced to loose GL at some point or we don't have the position for get the maximum dps.
other point, i have never say that the dps of the monk is bad, i say they need to give some confort to the class. another point it seems to be miss on what i say. the game will not stay fixed at 50 we will get a increase in the level cap. what do you prefer they do, continue to let us have the class like this one work more on the combo system? by taking out the damage of GL and taking out the position from the skill they can add other buff in the combo system later.
and finally a point really really important, in many fight before coil 4... Monk will be take only if people can't find better, and that is a trouble!

the change i propose are not game breaking, nor overpowered, since in terms of dps, it will simply reduce the time of the downtime because of the loose of GL, allows us to have more freedom as melee (we already have a lot at avoid as melee) by taking out the position from the monk skill.
Later a thief will be added, this class will be better at take position in it skill.

all that will give, it's some quality of play.
