Something about the incoming PvP that really disturbs me. The names. Fresh meat.

Yet how much do you want to bet so much abuse and swearing and general vileness is going to be thrown around in pvp by the grown-ups. Not saying i agree with it pretty much indifferent about the whole thing really never cared about who i was facing i just always saw em as some random mook who was about to die.

The thing is, I don't care. I'm more than capable of handling whatever form of harassment some idiot in a video game could manage. I'm certain that the majority of players who are interested in PvP feel the same way; it's a COMPETITION--PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER. It's not SUPPOSED to be anonymous; if I'm fighting identity-free people, what's the difference between well-designed PvE and PvP?

This is pretty damn terrible.

I think its a rather good idea. Until ppl can learn to control themselves on their keyboards and not act like heathens, games will have to resort to this sort of thing to maintain a healthy environment. There's no one to blame but the e-thugs and the cyber bullies. They ruin it for the decent folk, which is why SE has to step in and set so many limits.

As some of you have already mentioned, the reason why we have elected to display the names of your opponents as "Fresh Meat" is to prevent harassment from occurring. We feel this is an important aspect to address to create a fun and comfortable environment for everyone to enjoy PvP.

I have a suggestion. Fresh Meat would be fine for say... someone without a Title. Why not use this as a way to use the titles we can attach to our characters? Like if I were to put Karyna in a PvP right now, she'd be shown as Temptress of Fate. Still very randomized since everyone can get all the titles eventually (in theory), but more personalized and less... Meaty.

Look at CM, look at the abuse people face for watching a damn cut scene you think these people and i use the term loosely are going to act any better when you best them in pvp?. It sucks for you i know but if it promotes a better pvp environment then maybe it's worth it.

What this tells me is pvp wont be a focused aspect of ARR which is fine. I gave up wvw in GW2 which was a fairly hard decision to come here and pve and focus pve. I will most def get in to pvp and if its a serious component or not I am sure I will like it since I am a fan of pvp.

You enjoy pvp wait till the Camelot Unchained game comes out in a year and a half that will be a real pvp game.

Sorry if I wasn't clear--I don't want to force anyone to reveal their name. I want the option to un/hide MY name, not other players'. They can do as they please. But Im not worried about abuse/harassment FROM other players, so why shouldn't I be able to display MY name publicly?

That would work to be fair both sides would get what they want dunno if they would do it though hopefully they'll consider it.
