1.0 says hi and so does a lot of MMO's when people don't play. Games shut down because people don't play
and not making enough money...obviously.
We're lucky to have a re-make, they would of lost cash big time if they shut it off completely.
The answer to this would be pretty subjective.
I play Rift because I enjoy it and I've grown attached to my characters and the lore. However Rift may not appeal to you, and that is perfectly fine. But it is a decent MMO.
Also in that game I can climb mountains and swim in bodies of water, generally things I require in most of the MMOs I play. Everytime I try to partake in these activities in FFXIV on the other hand I run face first into an invisible wall, and disappointment.
I don't know yet, i need to get on end game or maybe not...I think biggest mistake was changing from a FF game in to a hybrid mix of other mmorpgs.I prefer 1.0 version by far, Atmosphere was different too, cannot foerget my slow grind day on uldah map with that great soundtrack, i can't say that grind was pleasant, but always better than see those fate zerg on a ff game that made me sad..FF must be FF
I'm here until the EQN games get rolling.
If anything drives me away it will be the idea that FATE zergs are considered core gameplay for SE.
Hee heeyeah Fates...kinda like watching my cat chase it's tail...still kinda entertaining after all these yrs. Weird though...I don't know yet, i need to get on end game or maybe not...I think biggest mistake was changing from a FF game in to a hybrid mix of other mmorpgs.I prefer 1.0 version by far, Atmosphere was different too, cannot foerget my slow grind day on uldah map with that great soundtrack, i can't say that grind was pleasant, but always better than see those fate zerg on a ff game that made me sad..FF must be FF
I've already subbed. You should give new games at least 3 months when launched as they generally add content within that time that they couldn't release during launch. It's kind of like a new show, you should give it 4 episodes before making a decision.
That is of course unless you really hate the game. I can say as of now, I know no one in my FC that is not subbing.
But let's be honest, this game was always going to lose at least 10 if not 20% after the "free" month was up. There is no way around this. The game will not die because a few people on the forum decide to leave. The real test for SE has just begun. They probably got a year to pull people into the game. After that, it's anyones guess.
"You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means."
You'd give...your internet provide at least 3 months to provide you with the service you are posting to receive?I've already subbed. Your cable/satellite company?
Your electric company?
Perhaps a gym you're taking a membership at?
How about your cell phone? You'd pay 3 or 6 month subscriptions to your cell service if they promised they'd provide the package you're paying for...eventually, yes? When they get around to it?
And you'd be willing; indeed, simply delighted; to have to farm tokens using your phone with other people in order to unlock its features, yeah? You're not one of those casuals that thinks you should just be able to push a button and get whatever app you want, are you?
I bet you are, you lazy cow. You failure. You don't want to work Thor anything and you think cell providers should just dish you up on a silver platter whenever you want something, and you don't appreciate anything. When a new phone from some crappy new manufacturer comes along, you'll run right along.
You people are why we can't have nice cell phones. You think nice is haVing everything handed to you because you're all 'pay 2 call' scrubs that are too lazy to rise to the challenge of making friends that will man switchboards and help you beat ice off wires in the winter so you can earn something for once.
Because cell phones are social tools. You're supposed to use them with others. All these modern cells are changing their focus to cater to you losers, with their apps and movie players and music making studio told and cameras and photo editing utilities right there in the phones.
You people don't even know what its like to turn a rotary dial. You're why the cell industry is a crap filled casual cesspit, nobody hardly even ness to shovel do much as a scoop of coal to heat their houses (just pay2heat too anymore), and you all think its so great.
Well, here's your telling off of the century; cells stole all their good ideas from telegraphing! What would you people do if you s were faced with a telegraph nowadays? You'd cry like milkfaces because it didn't run crysis while taking stupid pictures of your cast to send to people in some other country that are just as failface lazy and stupid and entitled as you.
The cell industry should bring back telegraphs and make all of your cellphones stop working.

Your examples are awful and not relevant. lol
I think you are being generous with your 10% and 20% estimate. Frankly my wife and myself really enjoy the game but we have been purposely avoiding endgame because of the 300ms AOE lagg. I feel that many find this kind of delay due the positioning checks in 2013 is unacceptable.I've already subbed. I think unless they communicate with us on their plans on how they will address this or outright fix it we will see many that would have subbed take a wait and see position and maybe come back in a few months.
I am not sure yet but I think that is what we will do, take a break for a couple months then comeback for a 1 month and see.
Frankly I can't see myself enjoying endgame otherwise so why would I pay a sub?

i could make an argument to show my point of view of why i like FFXIV the way it is but im just too lazy to atm.
Just gonna say: the game is still new, give it time, content every 3 months will fix it.
As of now, im loving it, subbed for a year.
