That's what happens when the entire game is based off of end game. People play through the content and leave to come back a couple of months later for the new content. Its the modern MMO, still this is on par with the rest if them and shows promise so I'm willing to sub.

The extremely narrow-minded view of these "hardcore" players doesn't make the game completely focused on end-game.

Personally I'm getting sick of reading about people complaining about a lack of things to do in-game when they don't even have all the necessary cross-class skills for their jobs.

I don't care how good your gear is, if you're a whm without swiftcast, I'm not bringing you along.

Never mentioned hardcore and didn't complain. Yoshi himself said the game really starts at endgame. I was just summarizing what I believe is the goal of most modern day MMOs. I have personally took my time with the game and am not currently at what most consider end game. Just an opinion.

30 conj, 13 thaum, 9 archer, 50 weaver, 37 culinarian, 33 alch, 32 leather, 35 goldsmith, 6 armorer, 35 blacksmith, 32 carpenter, 37 miner, 41 botanist, 26 fisher. I chose the craft whore route, i've yet to max everything and hell I've barely seen any of the game Makes me excited when i get there. My goal domination of crafted goods and scrooge mc duck pools of gil oh and I'll eventually be a badass white mage but everything in time lol.

You may be misinterpreting this sentiment. What we have are two different games in one package. The game from 1-50, and the game at 50 and beyond.

Well... There is many potentionally awesome games out there. Many became awesome further down the line, while some were awesome right of the bat. Point is, give it time.

Not that people don't still complain about it and whine all the way to the bank while they re sub for more of it...but FFXI was still pay to play last time I checked. Even if they went F2P today, considering how long the game was not free, if ARR lasts that long I wouldn't consider it remotely bad. They have a lot to learn from with that model and 1.0 so I don't see the fear of it going F2p. I am certain though, that they listened to their fanbase/customers enough to re make a game and that defines their flexibility, their willingness to adapt to meet the needs of that community.

The game really starts (to get grindy) at endgame, combined with the fate grind for new players. I don't personally enjoy the endgame at all but with wildstar still in between beta I'm willing to toss a few dollars out to fill in some time.
