The extremely narrow-minded view of these "hardcore" players doesn't make the game completely focused on end-game.

Personally I'm getting sick of reading about people complaining about a lack of things to do in-game when they don't even have all the necessary cross-class skills for their jobs.

I don't care how good your gear is, if you're a whm without swiftcast, I'm not bringing you along.

Never mentioned hardcore and didn't complain. Yoshi himself said the game really starts at endgame. I was just summarizing what I believe is the goal of most modern day MMOs. I have personally took my time with the game and am not currently at what most consider end game. Just an opinion.

You may be misinterpreting this sentiment. What we have are two different games in one package. The game from 1-50, and the game at 50 and beyond.

The game really starts (to get grindy) at endgame, combined with the fate grind for new players. I don't personally enjoy the endgame at all but with wildstar still in between beta I'm willing to toss a few dollars out to fill in some time.

Because people want everything now, now, now so they rush to end game and wonder why a new game does have enough for them.

Another reason is that people want to be catered to their own liking and that ends up removing or changing things that some people actually enjoyed. But for the sake of satifying the majority that will never really be happy those people miss out. Ironically, the very next day the catered will find something else to dislike and complain about. Sad situation.

I miss how in FFXI the devs just put stuff out and if you liked it thats cool you can play, but if you didnt like it you can deal with it or move on. FFXI is still operating and getting expansions.. Speaks volumes..
