Duty finder bring the casuals and hardcore player together is a disaster

Got a day off today, and my usual group wasn't online (being at work). Queued up for AK in DF, and after a 45 min wait, the BLM I got - well, he showed up wearing the very best in Level 35 quest rewards. Knowing that the Wall makes trouble for BLMs anyway, I dropped and took the 15 min hit b/c it's better to re-queue and do some crafting than waste another hour and a half banging my head against that Wall.

I don't mind explaining a dungeon to a first-timer, or helping someone through an instance; I don't gripe about wipes or complain if somebody screws up. But c'mon. Have some standards, people.

AF in a level 50 dungeon is kinda like a high school diploma IRL. It's the bare minimum of what's expected. If these "casuals" can't even be bothered to do the fast and easy AF quests for their job, there's no defending their presence in DF queues. They're wasting other people's time and on some level, they *know* that they're wasting other people's time, which makes 'em trolls.

Solution is easy don't use DF for speed runs then cry when there's a new player.

Yeah, I never quite understood this. If you are "hardcore speed run everything!" type of person why in the world aren't you creating your own party with people either in your LS's, FC, or your own server population to farm that instance? Not that you have an added bonus, when you complete the run, you can re-run it with the same people again, and again and again.

HM Titan isn't endgame btw. It is a challenging enough fight that does require a certain amount of teamwork (and requisite gear) to beat, but it's got nothing on Binding Coil from what I can gather.

It's not SE's fault that people try to queue up for things undergeared or with the bare minimum. Putting in the gear check will hopefully alleviate some issues, but player skill will always be a factor. There are just some folks that cannot play games that require short reaction times and they are the people that will inevitably prevent a random group through DF from progressing on fights with more coordinated efforts like HM Garuda and Titan.

Edit : OP, for the record, if you are going to label yourself hardcore you should save yourself some frustration by not using the DF to fill in spots for your party/raid. Stick to like minded, geared, skilled, and/or what ever you deem worthy of "hardcore" players within your own linkshell, free company, and/or friend's list.

It is because, 80% of CM run on duty finder is already speed runner group. The majority of the people on duty finder are expecting they joining a CM speed run group. They are already pre-making their own group....thru duty finder because the majority of the people on duty finder for CM run are speed runner. That is a fact right?

And this is what my first post is trying to say, the majority of the duty finder on CM run IS speed runner group. When the majority of these people run into the minority (casuals), this is where all the fighting, bad attitudes, and swearing begin.

And when the casuals asking the *majority* to pre-made their own group for speed run is silly. It is because the majority of the people ARE speed running on duty finder.

in my experience the swearing and bad attitudes are always from the speed runners. No thank you, I'll pass. The same was true in 1.0 without Doody Finder.

I am not saying they are right. I am just trying to bring up the fact here. This is the root of the problem. You can't change how the majority of the people use the duty finder. WHen you are mixing the casuals to the rest of the majority of the people how they use the duty finder and what they expect on AK/CM run, it will become a problem. And that's what all these duty finder issue we have on the forum right now.

You take your chances in Duty Finder, and if you fancy yourself some kind of MMO superstar you'd do well to remember that and scale back the attitude.

To be fair -- there is nothing in the game that suggests a gear level to do well in AK. It's available to queue for as soon as you hit 50. If a player doesn't lurk on FFXIV forums, etc. there is really no way for them to know in advance that queuing for AK in AF/White accessories is no the best idea. Thankfully this issue will be moot come 2.1.

Base on the situation right now on duty finder for CM run, an NBA star run into another NBA star in a pick up game is 80% of the time. They are the norm. I mean, try it, queue on CM 10 times, and see how many of them are speed run group. You will be surprise you will run into so many NBA stars in a pick up group.

Or you know, the hardcore crowd can get the sand out their vajayjay's and stuff the attitude. Not that I agree, youre basically blaming the hallway for bringing the nerds and the bullies together.
