I think the real question to this entire thread is: Why did you run ifrit so many times? Those weapons are basically worthless. You could just get a GC weapon or run WP for a weapon there while collecting tokens. Then once you've gotten a few pieces of DL armor start running AK/Garuda. Seems a LOT of wasted time for a mediocre weapon.

As I have mentioned in previous comments, I believed that having RNG on weapon drops, that there would be an even chance for me to get my Ifrit sword drop, assuming the probabilities in the game are even. Like I don't even mind running Ifrit HM, I enjoy tanking + stunning quite a lot actually. Little did I know...

Random number generator generating numbers randomly. Even if drop rate on sword was 90% you should still go in knowing it could take 100 runs. Would that make you very unlucky? Yes. Would it make the sword any more likely to drop on run 101? No. If you want to avoid RNG, run CM for tomes.

Strength: 11 -> 13

Let me ask again, do you honestly think +1 damage and +2 strength is going to be the difference between holding and not holding aggro?

Better yet, get an Aeolian Scimitar +1 and put some materia in it.
If you have the gil of course there is better, much better than Ifrit.
If you had time to 205 runs you have time to farm up the resources to make a decent weapons (or buy on from the boards).

you should have spent your time in CM farming tomes, do you realize how much cash you could have had from selling potash/paecock ore/animal fat etc

your hq'd ilvl55 crafted weapon is equivalent stats to a garuda weapon (10 ilvl higher than ifrit) before you put any materia in it

in 200+ ifrits you could have easily made enough gil to acquire one of those weapons

just looked you up on the lodestone - if you plan on being a career tank and you aren't just after weapons for the sake of getting a weapon, you should finish your gear

you've got a few thousand tomes worth of darklight to purchase before you really need to worry about which weapon you need to get

to reiterate: you should not be wasting your time on ifrit, you should be farming philo tomes

in version 1 we had the excuse of "nothing better to do than farm primals" myself killing ifrit 70+ times before I got any drop from him, and that wasn't even one I could use.. yet

you don't, you have the option of jumping past the ifrit weapon entirely by simply buying an aeolian +1, and if you've actually killed ifrit as many times as you claim, you could've had the cash to buy one outright several times over if you had spent your time elsewhere

87 Ifrit HM wins here. I have never seen my PLD sword. It has never dropped. I have 5 other Ifrit weapons for classes I never intend to play.

I gave up and just started crafting instead.

Dude, I feel you. I've now done about 48 complete runs of Wanderer's Palace trying to get my Darklight Kite Shield, but it just won't drop. I could buy the ilvl70 Scutum, but I don't really like Scutums, nor do I want to spend 1.5m on something I'll be swapping out for relic, since I'm to do my relic bosses once I get a decent shield <_<

But yeah, at least you only have to deal with repeating a single, easy boss over and over, with no trash. Clearing the entirety of WP this much has been annoying as hell.

Successfully tanked Garuda with all DPS relics (most +1s too) and me ilvl 55 GC weapon. Same for many an AK run, although those made me work a lot for agro.

That would surely be frustrating but RNG is RNG and as others have stated you do have easier avenues for a weapon upgrade. I personally hope that they never make everything into a token grind.
