I'd like to understand why you need your hotbars to switch dependent on stance.. I can't think of a reason I would use it...

Clue me in please as I might be missing something good...

Likely to provide easier access/bar space for non-combat actions (Chocobo, emotes, minions, class quick select etc). Presumably if your weapon is sheathed you are not in combat. That's my immediate thoughts anyway

I use this feature and it's really helpful actually. Basically I have it set up so that I can cycle through all the hotbars when out of combat (weapon sheathed), and only the first three hotbars when in combat (weapon drawn). I set all my in combat stuff to the first three hotbars. Skills / actions on the first two, and potions etc on hotbar 3.

Because I use a gamepad I press RB to cycle through the hotbars. During battle it's very helpful to be able to cycle through just the three that are relevant to combat. Of course if I'm out of combat and on another hotbar, then I suddenly get attacked, I can draw my weapon and be switched immediately to the first combat hotbar automatically which is very useful and helps me not to panic!

Hope that makes sense. Give it a try, you may like it.

To OP, I understand that your problem is the fact you are switched even if the current hotbar is allowed in both stances. I think the idea of it switching to the first hotbar is based on the presumption that you most important skills for combat will be on hotbar 1. As described above, this works really well for me to be switched automatically when starting combat, as I would be switching to the first hotbar manually each time I start battle anyway. That said, we all have different play styles and hopefully the proposed solution from Hiroshi will work for you.

When your weapon is away you are not in combat, if you are not in combat do you need quick access to a combat ability or would you like for say all your travel abilities to be present.
