See, that's obvious and I covered it in my OP, but what's annoying me is that frequently enough, it doesn't zoom back out, which it should, like Gardes said.the camera is designed in such a way that it will not allow you to zoom out of the room you are in so as to prevent your camera from clipping into the walls, try going into enclosed spaces, you can't zoom any further than the walls you are in.
you can adjust your camera so that there aren't any walls behind though.
What I'm experiencing: I zoom out the camera for X distance, then swing my camera to a certain angle where a wall or obstacle or object is blocking my view and the game would force the camera to be set at Y distance for me. That's alright I guess but when I move the camera out of the object's way back to the initial position, the zoom is still at Y distance instead of going back to X, and I will have to rezoom out again manually. An easy fix for mouse and keyboard users, since they only need to flick the mouse wheel but for controller users it's a bit of pain since you have to hold the L1 button and analog to readjust, wasting precious time in combat. I play using both controls depending on the class I'm playing but for the most part, with controllers, the game never returns your camera position. All has to be manual and annoying.
