SE Banning players with large amounts of gil?

Maybe not intentionally, but they know that when they charge the prices that they do... not many people will be able to afford it. So if business is good, they much know that some of the money they make is illegal. They become just as guilty.

Sorry, but isn't that the point of endgame gear?

XI ran for years and years with items being worth 1m to over 10m, Square never banned me back then for selling Cursed gear at "ridiculous" prices. That is the whole damn point of endgame crafted gear, it isn't meant to be cheap, it isn't meant to be something everyone can afford. It is meant to be just as much a pain to obtain as the alternatives, in this case Darklight. Anyone who expects to be able to just buy Darklight (and the gear is far better than Darklight, really) for the peanuts they gathered getting to 50 is absolutely insane...

If crafters were selling this stuff at a price everyone could afford, we'd just have an entirely different problem on our hands... Heck, the main reason Square raised the requirement of Potash/Coke/etc on these recipes is because they wanted to slow supply of these items down at launch so that people would actually bother with Darklight...

If a RMT sold you a stolen car, then you gave that car to me... is it suddenly legal for me to have it because I didn't buy it when it was first stolen?
It's the same thing but to a much lesser extent. The same rule applies though.
If Gil is illegal for any reason, it stays illegal. It doesn't pass around a few people then suddenly become ok.

1. Illegal money should be taken back from the game, and the goods sold given back to the people who sold them (essentially nullifying the sale for all parties except the gil sellers and the cheating players who bought said gil).

2. Those who sold items, however expensive said sale was, should not go to "prison" (ban) for having done a perfectly legit action within the rules of the game. It's not their fault someone was willing to pay a high price. Last I checked, an iPhone 5S cost ~$100 to produce yet Apple sells them at ~$600, that doesn't make Apple's sales illegal, nor are they responsible if some iPhones are bought with mafia's money.

3. If there are logs proving that people were trying to launder illegal money ("you buy gils then I sell you something through AH"), then of course the people associated in "crime" should be punished as well: but then the burden of proof lies on the accuser and judge (SE), and they (SE) would be liable for applying a judgment without irrefutable proof.


On a personal note:
I'm glad those who say otherwise don't run our courts in real life. That would be frightening to a whole new level.
I'm worried basic law principles aren't better understood by the masses at large. That is worrying.

Common sense, why do you use it?

Lets seperate 2 things:
1. Using RMT gil to your advantage
2. Profiting in a normal way

How do you tell those 2 apart? If you are a 100% HQ crafter and charge fees like 100k-200k/craft with client's mats(so total 500k-1m/full set tank, way more for LNC/DRG i.e.), then sorry to tell ya but you are just using RMT gil, and you know it. You cant expect any normal person to have so much gil to pay for such a craft. And imho, that is a ToS breach since you are cooperating with ppl that used RMT services and you do have knowledge of it(come on now, would you pay 100k+ for a ilvl70, after paying about 500k for its mats?).

Selling an item for 1m in the market on the other hand, is ok. Even if its plain visible that the buyer is a RMT user (well most times), you can even sell bat shit for 1m, its in your rights. Sure its still RMT gil, but markets operate on free pricing policing.

So yeah, crafters that charge insane fees for those items imo arent the innocent lambs they claim to be.

Well i am on a legacy sever and it seems like my account was suspended no e mail no nothing just you can't play. At work where i leave myself log in on forms and still seem to be able to post i it as bug if this goes thru. but i like to know what i did wrong i never have use any tools and bought any gil in only have 20 k on me

At least we know they are doing something about it. People are complaining they don't banned the Gold Seller or people who bought gold, but when they do it's harsh and a big sweep.

How do we know this people are telling the true that their gold are legit and not buy from gold seller? Maybe they are banning the gold buyer as well? Some of my friend have couple mils and if they indeed banned everyone with large gil, they would have been banned too already. I say good job on SE to banned the buyer too instead of the Gold Seller. Gold Seller think they are safe and SE only banned Gold Seller.
