Warriors in coil .. It's not happening

Have done the first three turns in Coil with a Warrior tank, not sure/can't claim about after that as we've not cleared it yet. But it's certainly possible to have a Warrior tanking for as far as we've gotten, it's just a little more difficult for the healers and a bit scary.

I am just going to throw this out there but you are aware just because a mob is red does not mean you have to attack it. Why not have DPS relax for 5 seconds while the person builds a better hate buffer?
I would also check that your warrior is using a proper rotation, I have not had any problems with Warrior's ability to maintain threat in a fight.

I knew where you were trying to go prior to this post. It still works better on a Paladin.

Also, Adloquium, the shield heal, is terribly inefficient unless it crits.

Because Scholar MP requires management? If you are running out on a Scholar you have bigger problems than a Warrior tank

I would very much like to compare different raid compositions, see how fights go. In terms of mana, threat management and general control over the encounter mechanics. I like my raids "solid & steady" and would very much like to see how different comps fare in Coil so far*—not only with variations on the tanking duo or healing duo, but also on DDs, such as melee/range proportions and so on.

Well said, I like comparing different strategies. Even using different strategies can turn something same-old-same-old fresh again.

So, are SCH's inferior end game healers? or just for WARs because they need so much?

Kinda disappointed that WHM pushes so much further ahead.

Not sure how you arrived at that conclusion from what I've read, but ok, I'll bite. SCH are great healers, but they require pet management and a cool head to maximise their potential. They have lower enmity because their heals are spread between pet and caster, with similar output. They have superior MP management also. Their weakness, in my opinion, is that they lack reliable, on-demand burst healing, which is easily supplemented by having one SCH and one WHM in your group. They work exquisitely together, and I'm always happy to have my good SCH friend in my groups. The problem is warrior mitigation is non-existent, but that's only a problem in Coil. I do hope we either start understanding SE's grand warrior plan soon, or warriors get a few mechanics to help minimise spike damage.

If your WARs are doing endgame content without getting 22 GLD for Provoke then they're doing something wrong.

How exactly?

I was under the impression that all provoke did was put you at the top of the hate pile +1 and that's it!

Not a hate builder but just a panic grabber if you lose hate on a mob (that is instantly back off after 1 heal)

Provoke is not a NEEDED skill for WAR at all. Overpower generates x4 hate with defiance up and works much better than a provoke.

i think your wrong and you should stack dex, to up your parry. Thats what warrior in turn 5 is doing, and i think its a good way to go
