Sick of RMT spam

I'm not sure which MMOs you've been playing 16bit... but I've personally never experienced this much gold spam. My background: Ultima Online, EQ, WOW, Warhammer, SWTOR, Horizons, Shadowbane, DAOC, AOC, Eve, DDO, LOTRO, EQ2, Vindictus, Rift, GW2, Defiance, NVN... and like 25 that I missed. Never in any of my personal playing experience have I ever seen it this bad and this out there.

They aren't doing enough. They also help the RMT sites through their terrible reporting UI.

Actually, Aion had it worse in it's early days. Not only was shout channel full of gold spam (kinah in this case), but the gold sellers harassed you in both tells and spammed your in-game mailbox with advertisements. It was ridiculous!

If it weren't for Square Enix putting in a requirement for someone to be on your friend's list in order to send in-game mail, your mailbox would explode with advertisements to buy gil.

It's not even so much the amount of RMT and subsequent shouts that there are in the game, it is the fact that they need to fill all of the lines of chat with the same thing web address, thus killing your chat box. I, personally, have an extra chat filter that has nothing but FC, LS, Party, and Tell chats that I flip to whenever I feel it is getting out of hand.

Though I understand what is being said about having a lvl 15 restriction on shout/yell, that kind of defeats the purpose of chatting. I don't know how many times I have seen somebody shout for "where is x mob" or even just general conversation. Instead of more restrictions on the legitimate players, SE needs to get their "special" team actually doing there job. 500+ accounts banned is only the tip of the iceberg.

oooohhhh.. thats explained why i got a ramdon friend imvite once... and THANKS havrn for this limit...

... so how can u report them? i dont find a way on ps3...
there r this 2 lalafell.. pretty cute btw looking at each other, infront f the leve in gridania, that r RMT spamming. I couldn't figured out how to report...

A few locations i have seen the spam messages pop up and low and behold the person who sent it was standing there in one of the towns
This happened with 2 different people. Closing of their account would be ideal even if a temporary fix

oh i though that they were always in the game... i have seen them a LOT just standing there.. normally a lvl 1, no moving for hours (while i craft a few steps away) and u see his/her name is the one spamming ufor gil

the gil bots and the farmer bots are out of control but the tell spam is the worse!!! how is this hard? i've played mmo's since UO and never been subjected to this kind of nonsense...even UO gave you GM's that would come help or would show up invisible to talk and help you. yesterday i reported a gang of bot farmers lol i fell asleep and was auto logged for inactivity but when i got back on the next day they were still there farming level 5 trees...so why do i get logged out and have to wait in que for these cheaters and spammers???

am so sick of them as well, thinkin I can get a way from them through P2P/subs based game but its really worst in here... hw bout tryin to IP block the whole country they came from, lets say China for example. not a racist, am jus sayin!!! xD

jus to add, hw bout limiting /shout /yell perks according to character level jus liek in forums. its not liek global chat in my server is always alive w/ a legit conversation. day or night, no1 really wants to talk lol
